We have stayed at the Maui Banyan a couple times always nice. Clean and beautiful. Close to beach and great sunsets. Close to great snorkeling. We hit all the local gift shops and restaurants. One favorite treat was Dole Whip at the ice cream shop. They have many handmade flavors but I got hooked on Dole Whip. Very refreshing.
The condo itself is situated nicely in Kihei. Across the street is some of the best beaches in Maui and there is shopping within a mile walk and if you drive there is a whole tourist area right down the street. The condo themselves depends on which unit you get. I was H305 and the room itself was a very nice size and would comfortably hold 4 people. The bedroom area can be closed off to the living room area. The room was a bit dated and could use some updating but it fit our purpose and we weren't in the room much. The balcony is long but small and wasn't really usable too much because the air conditioner leaks all over it which left puddles, the ac units were loud and they threw off alot of heat so sitting on the balcony was not pleasant. The view from the balcony is ok if you look to your left you have a clear view of the mountains when the clouds allow and if you look to your right you have a small window to the ocean. The bathroom showers though sucked. No pressure whatsoever. The bed was a little on the firm side but the pillows I hated and wished I brought my own and half thought about going to buy my own lol The air conditioner is LOUD, it didn't bother me so much cause to me it was white noise but it was loud. The kitchen was stocked with the basics but the fridge had a smell to it. This building H was close to the parking garage and one pool. You get what you paid for. But if you are looking to go budget conscious it is a good centrally located place.…
Room was typical Hawaiian “resort”. Nothing fancy. Our room had a view of the parking structure. If you are booking through a timeshare, know that there are different housekeepers than those staying straight through the resort. We ran low on toilet paper and contacted the front desk, who told us “our” housekeepers went home and that we had to call and request toilet paper and they would deliver it tomorrow.. I needed to go purchase my own..
The room was very clean and the size was great for two or three people. The kitchen was well stocked but It could have sharper knives besides only serrated (but then I'm fussy about having sharp knives). The location was excellent, minutes from the beach and shops. The only downside is that if you're disabled, the bathroom only has a tub and no grab bars. The distance to the garage and the pool could be a challenge for disabled people.
there were cockroaches in the building. Maybe by chance one fund its way in. but I say an insect killer in the cabinet The cabinet smells terribly and all the dishes needed to be rewashed . I don't know what the smell was
