This is an older property, and as such has a larger grounds with more privacy. All units have gorgeous ocean views and easy access to a beautiful long walkable/swimmable/snorkeling beach. Plenty of parking. Very friendly and helpful onsite management. The building and units are dated but quite functional. We stayed in 514, and as a corner unit it had a huge lanai with a 180 view from the ocean to the volcano. The master bedroom and kitchen also had a large window which made the space even bigger. Plenty o' roosters in the early am, bring earplugs. No AC , but terrific cross breezes to cool the place down.

Our family of four had a fabulous vacation and stay in condo #513. Location and view were amazing! The condo itself was a good size, pretty well equipped, nice beach chairs available for use, full wall of windows that give perfect oceanfront view, easy keyless entry, free parking, etc! The huge grass area is meticulously cared for, with lounge chairs available. The pool area was still being remodeled (which we were advised of beforehand). I can tell that it is going to be beautiful once completed. Although there wasn’t A/C, we never felt the need for it. The ceiling fans, tower fans, and full wall of screened windows/sliding door, it created a perfect air flow that kept us very comfortable. We will absolutely return to this exact condo!

Stayed in Kihei Surfside 311 for 14 days. When I made the booking on the phone with Ali'i Resorts management company, the booking agent said the pool would be "closed for repairs" at the property. I would not have minded this at all. In reality, however, this meant that the entire lawn area, pool deck, and pool - the entire length of the building in front of every unit's lanai, were under major, LOUD construction Monday through Saturday from EARLY 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. This information should have been clearly disclosed before booking. I would not have reserved the unit had I known about this. Also, before I booked, the reservations agent assured me that an early check in "should be no problem at ALL if the room has been empty a couple of days before you arrive." The room was in fact empty for a couple of days before I arrived, however, the room was not ready the morning of my arrival and my calls to check on possibly checking in early were answered with rudeness, accusations of skirting their "early check-in fees, and gross unprofessionalism. Sad, that once I had pre-paid for this lengthy stay, all the kindness, service, and Aloha disappeared from Ali'i Resorts management. I recommend instead booking through a hospitable, professional agency.

We found Kihei Surfside several years ago when looking for a location on the ocean that had easy access to sand and snorkeling. We also found friendly vacationers, condo owners and property managers that make you feel right at home, be it around the barbecue grill or during the larger gathering at sunset. You can see from the photos the view from the condo sweeps across the shoreline which is quite unusual to get, and then you can just grab your snorkel gear and go around the front of Mana Kai Maui next door to enter the coral reef from the long sandy beach (or just take a long walk down to the resort area in Wailea).

We really enjoyed Kihei Surfside. It is directly on the ocean and the views are amazing. We came in February and were treated to spectacular Whale sightings. Bring your binoculars. Our unit 505 was well appointed although the shower was a bit old/dated. We did not need AC as it was relatively cool but if you come in the summer that may or may not be an issue. There is no resort fee which is nice and they have a lovely pool. We couldn't use the lawn game supplies due to Covid but hopefully that will change soon. Most of the people who rent or live here are very quiet and it seems like a retirement community. We had two teenagers and were able to respect the quiet atmosphere. But if you have younger kids and don't want to worry about them making noise and bothering neighbors this may not be a fit. I loved how quiet it was and this is one of the reasons I would come back. It is right nextdoor to a lovely sand beach that you only have to walk a short ways to get to. OH, and the sunsets right out your lanai are amazing.
