This review is long overdue, however, the experience is still pretty vivid in my mind. My husband to be and I stayed here for about a week back in 2011. Captain Howie married us down the street on the beach and what more of a convenient place to stay...... We didn't want to stay at a commercial resort and much...

Our recent week in Hale Nalo set a new standard for Oahu accommodation and hospitality. Completely removed from mega-resort Hawaii, Waimanalo is a peaceful Hawaiian village on one of the most beautiful and quiet beaches anywhere in the world. We stayed in the Zen Treehouse, an airy, bright, clean apartment with views to both the spectacular Ko'olau mountain range and...

Just finished a five night stay in the Zen Treehouse suite in Hale Nalo in Waimanalo which is on the windward side of Oahu, a 35 minute drive from Waikiki. Hale Nalo is located in a quiet (except for the sound of wavesand birds chirping)residential neighborhood one minute walk from a beautiful uncrowded two mile long beach that was recently...

We only had a few days to spend away from our hectic, "committed to family at the moment" lives. And we found Hale Nalo! Mostly wanting only the beautiful, peaceful, waimanalo beach, perfect ocean and air. We got even more. Few minute walk to beach, and Herlinda!! The peaceful retreat we found was wonderful~ We had everything we needed. Everywhere...

We got back from Oahu yesterday, having spent 2 nights at a hotel in Waikiki and 4 nights at the Hale 'Nalo in Waimanalo. Waikiki was fun but we were so happy to escape the crowds and settle in at Herlinda's place. She lives in a peaceful neighorboorhood with views of the mountains and the beach just steps away. We...

We completely enjoyed four perfect nights at the Zen Treehouse in January. We felt right at home, and instantly relaxed. As much as we enjoyed exploring, snorkeling, and hiking, we were eager to return home each afternoon. We enjoyed being able to brew a pot of coffee and have some oatmeal and fresh fruit for breakfast while planning our days....

We just got back from our wonderful trip to Oahu. We stayed for 6 nights in the Makai studio and it was really perfect! The sliding doors make you feel like you are outside. The cool decor gives you comfort and piece and the bed has the softest sheets. It it true: you can hear the waves in the evening...

My wife and I chose Hale 'Nalo from many places we looked at on the website. We were looking for something off the beaten path and away from Honolulu and Waikiki. We were not disappointed. From the minute we arrived we immediately felt at home. Inviting and quiet. We spent 10 nights there as we were visiting our daughter who...

My husband and I chose Hale 'Nalo from many places we reviewed on the website. What a lucky choice! From the moment we entered the gate we felt immediately at home. We entered our little hideaway. So cozy and inviting! I loved Herlinda's decorating style--minimalistic, but very detail-oriented! The cottage had absolutely everything that we needed, organized and arranged to...

This comfortable garden cottage is ideal for a quiet get away. At the end of October my husband and I spent 5 nights here and very much enjoyed ourselves and wished we could have stayed longer. Usually when we spend a day on the beach, we pack a cooler, have to find ice... and we usually forget something. The cottage...
