As a person who doesn't like paying an exorbitant amount for hotels, the Cow Hollow Inn was just the right price when booking. Located near a number of restaurants which are open til late, and around the corner from the #30 bus which takes you to Fishermans Wharf and the centre of the city, I recommend Cow Hollow for any... Stayed 2 nights. Had a which faced onto Lombard Street but wasn't disturbed by traffic noise at all. Room was a good sized & bed was comfy. Staff helpful with directions & taxis. Fishermen wharf is walkable, maybe 20/30 minutes. Diner across the road is great for breakfast

I stay in a lot of hotels for both work and pleasure, and none are better than the Cow Hollow! Well worth the price. Now- it is a bit removed from the tourist attractions. So you either have to walk a bit (about 14 blocks to Fishermans Wharf) or learn how to use the bus system. Which is pretty easy.... More

If you want perfectly situated accommodation then The Cow Hollow Inn is the place to stay, across the road is Mels Diner, great for breakfast, and even dinner but we went for snacks! Onnthe other side is a street filled with delicious organic restaurants, further down that street and to the left is a bunch of great shops and book... More

I chose this hotel based on positive reviews and price, and it did not disappoint! The Cow Hollow is so conveniently located - right on Lombard in the Marina district - and we ended up walking a lot because we were centrally located to the things we wanted to do / see. For the times we could not walk, we... More

Our family of 5 stayed here for four nights. I booked the Cow Hollow Motor Inn based on the great price and great Tripadvisor reviews. I looked at lots of hotels and reviews, and kept coming back to this one. It did not disappoint! We had a really nice room - large, clean and nicely furnished. Fantastic location, free parking... Ok, cards on the table, we picked it because it was cheap (by San Francisco standards) so we weren't expecting much. However, quality and especially location were excellent. If you want pool, saunas and in hotel bars and restaurants , this isn't the place for you. If you want a clean spacious room within 5 minutes walk of some of... More

We started our California roadtrip in San Francisco staying at Cow Hollow. The room was perfect for a family of four and we had asked for a fridge in the room. Parking is free and you're within walking distance of the Marina, Golden Gate, shopping at Chestnut and Fishermans Wharf. Also, the bonus of this location in the Marina District... More

The hotel prices in SF are scandalous if you want to stay somewhere convenient, but the Cow Hollow is a good compromise. It's not right in the center but most things are about a $10 Uber ride away. The immediate area has plenty of restaurants within walking distance. (The Vietnamese place around the corner is excellent.) The rooms themselves are... More

We didn´t want to spend more than around 100 € per night, therefore the Collow Motor Inn and Suites was a very good choice. They have a garage over two level and by their own description they offer one parking lot per room. The rooms are spacious and clean but disadvantages are the non-soundproof windows and no fridge. The distance... More

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
