Very happy with the location, staff, decor, breakfast, and nightly wine offering. We stayed in a room at the end of the hall as recommended on TripAdvisor and it was indeed quiet and a little larger.
The bathroom was OK, the shower head was a...More

This is a delightful boutique hotel with great staff and service. And a great "neighborhood" bar to have your complimentary glass of wine each evening. The location is excellent--just two blocks from Union Square with many restaurants nearby.
I live in San Francisco but didn't want to be bothered ... with anything. I'm old. I needed a place close to Disposable Film Events ...They did a fabulous job with valet-ing my car. Very reasonably priced. I had room 705 top floor. Elevator. Warm....More
Lovely. We stayed in a King Executive. As another reviewer stated, it was ideal in every way. I do wish there were a way to have a coffee maker in the room (perhaps a couple kept downstairs to be doled out for the coffee hound...More

Originally home to rallies supporting the Union Army in the Civil War, this grand square has become the city's premier shopping and entertainment district containing the largest number of upscale department stores, chic boutiques, art galleries and theatres in the city. It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Hello and thank you for choosing us to stay with. It depends. If you are going to use your car valet is worth it at 50 $ a night. But if you were not going to use the car a lot with park and stay (and there are 3 less then a block away.) at 30 $ a night is best. Public transportation is easy and quick here In San Francisco. You of course and park in the white zone out front of the hotel and check in. We look forward to having you and let me know if you have any other questions.
Best Daniel Johnson

Hi sorry for my late response been in the Lake district for a break. Anyway when we stayed the room was at the rear of the Rex and was dark however very nice quiet and comfortable. As I said if I stayed again I would go for a room at the front of the Hotel and the morning sunlight but then of course I would be on the street side so will probably get some traffic noise. Hope that helps.
