I stayed as a single female traveler as part of my round world trip in July. From the start Jan was so welcoming, friendly and professions;. The accommodation is very clean, unique and well worth staying at. The rooms are clean and airy, the breakfast is superb with fresh fruits, breads and Jan's absolute consideration for the guest and their...

We spent 3 wonderful nights at the Inn. A wonderful cozy 3 storey home right in the Castro. Spotlessly clean, amazing breakfast and Jan and Meghan always there and so helpful and delightful. The Metro is over the street and the trolley around the corner so no problem getting about. And the Castro neighbourhood is safe, fun and packed with great...

My friend and I were first-timers in the city. The innkeeper was very helpful and accommodating, the location was perfect in terms of access to transit, shops, restaurants, etc. The inn and room decor was well thought out, and we got an authentic Castro neighborhood experience. Both my friend and I would stay here again.

I came to SF for a very long overdue visit and trek to see the city. I needed a place from which to work and also to play. I found that and more in the Inn on Castro. The people who work there, along with the owner, were helpful, supportive and informative. And for me, as a gay man, the...

Jan does an great job of making you feel at home. No problem to drop off bags when arriving early, very nice bedrooms, wonderful breakfast and conversation. In the center of it all and one of the few hotels in the Castro. Right across from the MUNY.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for two nights 19th and 20th October 2014. We went there because we love the buzz of Castro and Haight Street. We also like being near Golden Park and enjoyed walking from Cliff House, along Ocean Beach, through the Park to Haight Street back to the hotel. The hotel is a treasure....

This is one of the best places to stay in the the Castro district when visiting San Francisco. Very close to the muni & street cars and also all the entertainment that the Castro offers. Rooms are clean and a very nice breakfast is served each morning.

We found this private little gem to be in the most stimulating part of Castro during Halloween. Our room looked out onto the pride flag and down Castro street. Checking in was simple and the room was artfully decorated. Lovely chocolates, water and soda all free located near the front door. Fresh flowers and modern furniture completed this beautiful hotel....

Although our stay was very short, we had a very pleasant experience at the Inn On Castro. Our room was awesome and very spacious. The complimentary breakfast and whiskey were also a plus. The location was perfect and easy to find. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to SF.

Staying in The Castro

Neighbourhood Profile
The Castro
A flourishing commercial area that acts as San Francisco's LGBT community center and cultural heart, the Castro is a neighbourhood welcome to everyone. As one of the first predominantly LGBT neighbourhoods in the United States and currently its largest, it remains one of the epicenters of activism in the nation. Grand theatres and glitzy shops now compete with bars and fashionable eateries for attention, drawing visitors from around the world to the bright rainbow flag acting as its beacon.
