This hotel's only saving grace is it's location. it is convenient to basically everywhere in the city. however, there are so, so, so many drawbacks. Firstly, the staff is inconsistent to say the least. when we first checked in, we were dropped off by my sister, a local, with whom the clerk gladly chatted up, while completely ignoring us. another...

Our group of 5 (me, my husband, adult daughter, adult son, and his girlfriend) stayed here last month for 2 nights in Room 21 which had 2 bedrooms (1 with a queen bed; 1 with 2 twins in a trundle), 2 bathrooms (the master with double sinks and shower; the other with a tub/shower combo; both with heat lamps and...

Nob Hill Inn is a most delightful boutique inn high on the steep hill a block away from the beautiful Grace Cathedral and yet still very convenient for enjoying the sights, museums and galleries we visited. We stayed 2 nights in a junior suite which included a separate sitting room, as well as a beautiful bed room with a large...

This large old house, converted to a small charming inn, is in a terrific location at the center of town. It is one long block up a very steep hill to Grace Cathedral; several blocks down to the main crossroads for tourist locations & cable cars; several blocks from Chinatown; close to lots of restaurants and delis. The rooms are...

A word of warning, if you book this hotel make sure your room does not face Taylor street.....it's an extremely noisy road ! I'd suggest making that a condition of your booking if possible. Otherwise it's quite charming and is well situated.

A very conveniently located hotel on Nob Hill. Very cute and quaint. Loved the afternoon tea service in the lobby and was particularly impressed with the very friendly and smiley staff at the front desk. My room was great with a huge bathroom, a very comfortable bed and a chaise longue (room 18). If there was one thing that was...

The Inn is a great place for a couple who likes to walk or use the cable cars to explore San Francisco. Staff is very accommodating, many neighborhood shops for wine, fresh fruits, laundry service are close by. Two cable car routes are just a couple of blocks away, as well as several close by restaurants (definitely try Roxanne). Upper...

Keeping this 100 plus year old Inn in excellent shape must be a full time job yet management has mastered this task. The general manager is always about completing task after task keeping the Inn in tip top shape. We checked in for two nights in a street front top floor two bed/two bath suite. Full kitchen and two large...

We are an older couple that likes to explore. This Inn filled the bill. The staff (Tim, Mehrnaz and Bjorn) were very friendly and helpful. The room (#10) was quaint; perfect for our 3 night stay. Close to neighborhood markets for purchasing fruit and wine. Three blocks from a great restaurant, Roxanne's Cafe. (Ana is a terrific waitstaff person.) Never...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
