The perfect place to stay in San Francisco, away from tourist throngs but accessible to everywhere. A friendly welcome after a long flight, to a place that felt original, what more could you want. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area.

I stayed one night here. Room was ok. Dated decor and no windows, but ok. Next day I checked out and asked to leave bags until the evening, advising that one had a very fragile item in it and it wasn't to be moved. I was told that there was no room to lock them in and that I could...

Had a lovely stay at this hotel for one night. The hotel is at the top of nob hill so be prepared to take a taxi or have a very strenuous walk up the steep hill. Staff were all very friendly indeed and downstairs areas comfortable and clean. Our room was fairly small but surprisingly comfortable and being at the...

My husband and I stayed here for one night after a trip wine tasting in Sonoma. It's a lovely hotel in excellent condition. We stayed in room 8 on the 3rd floor which is very spacious with large bay windows, charming decor, a large wardrobe and second seating room with a couch and an additional tv. The street can be...

Lovely traditionally decorated hotel. We had a spacious junior suite with comfortable bedroom with plenty of space and large wardrobe and separate parlour with comfy sofa and second television. The shower room was a good size although it would have been good to have a bath to soak in after long days walking. Breakfast was available at additional cost. The...

Stayed at the Nob Hill Inn for two days during a business trip. The inn's location is centrally located at the base of famed Nob Hill, close to all of San Francisco's key downtown tourist attractions and business district. The inn itself is charming, with common areas decorated in old San Francisco, old world style. My room was large and...

We managed to visit all the places we came to visit. Centrally located in San Francisco. Tried the Muni/Cable car by buying a 3 Day passport. 311 and 511 very helpful in planning the early part of our trip. Helped in familiarizing ourselves with the city. We drove the rest of our stay. Staff is very courteous and helpful. Coffee...

Reasonably priced & free on-site parking key when traveling in SF. Sheets were clean & room adequate. Shower and water pressure were really good to wake up to. Close to everything: fisherman's wharf, Lombard St, Chinatown, Japantown, Richmond & the scenic Golden Gate.

This place was characterful and they'd put a lot of effort into recreating the traditional feel for the Knob Hill area. It was clean and the staff were polite. Our room had a lovely shower over a roll-top bath. The only problem was that it was a bit noisy from the traffic on the main road. Overall it made for...

The Nob Hill Inn is a rather small, but lovely place to stay at in San Francisco. It's conveniently located: most points of interests can easily be reached by foot or public transport. We were a bit sceptic when we booked, but glad to have been proven wrong. I'd stay there again. Just be ready for a small room (though...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
