As other's have said, this is a lovely property with big rooms and somewhat "funky" decor--English country inn wallpaper and decoration, and some picture on the wall that look like they came straight from the 50s "Twiggy" era. My room was very large--both comfortable and quiet, except for the occasional fire engine during the night. The fireplace makes the room...

We chose The White Swan for location and price. We were completely blown away by the charm of the property and the service provided. Great amenities offered in room, the decorations blend funky early 1900 decor and Mod accents such as books, fireplaces, teapots and awesome gogo boots. The breakfast in the morning has what you expect - cereal- and...

We love the hotel for its England decoration and hospitality. I forgot changing the number of persons from two to three in one room when booking, but the madam in the reception still give us the sofa bed bedding for free, many thanks for that.

This is a cozy, homey hotel in a well-kept old building that has lots of charm. I've stayed here on several occasions. The rooms are large, clean, and comfortable, with funky vintage British decor. The mini fridge is stocked with free bottles of water and soda. Great location near Union Square, close to lots of great restaurants, and several transit...

The White Swan seems to be pretty rare in San Francisco - a hotel that combines a quirky charm with reasonable prices. It's not the Ritz, but it offers a good, solid product and seems to attract a nice group of guests. It's a small hotel - something like half-a-dozen rooms on each of four floors. We had a deluxe...

My wife and I stayed here one evening on our way from North Carolina to Sonoma. We selected WSI because of the strong reviews here and the reasonable price for a hotel so close to Union Square. On the plus side, the room was sizable and had a working gas fireplace. The staff were very friendly and insisted on taking...

We had a lovely King with a fireplace in the back of the first floor. The hall to our door was used everyday as a place to dump linens and cleaning products. The downstairs parlors were set up with wine and cheese hors d'ouvres, and while the food went fast, the wine was generous! Friendly people, good atmosphere, bizarre carpet....

My friend discovered this Inn while searching for a weekend escape.....and it is wonderful. We will be back to visit again. We both really enjoyed our stay. The trip advisor pictures do it justice and are very accurate. The whole place is very quaint and somehow the unique decor all fits together. I love having a nice sitting area and...

My daughters, granddaughters and I stayed at the White Swan and it was the perfect place for us. The downstairs lounge (more like a cozy living room) couldn't have suited us more. We sat in armchairs, on the couch and on the floor in front of the fireplace and were able to have snacks and drinks and just hang out....
