Locates at Post Street, near union square, just one block away.Opposite the road, there is a supermarket, easy to grab food and drinks. But the hotel is old ,the staff are not nice at all,not rude, just not welcoming. The facilities should be renovated, very dark and the air circulation are not good inside.Compared with the price, could have other choices.

Very well located in SF. Near the BART station (Powell st )when you arrive from the airport (7 mn walk), near Union square, china town, car rental, market st, tramway... Friendly and young employees. Typical hotel from old SF: safety staircases outside the building, old elevator with 2 manual doors like in the movies ( often not well closed, so...

This place is tight on space and could use a facelift but is very homey. Vintage feel (without trying to be) just because it's old, people are very helpful and friendly and overall I've had a good stay! It's also a good location - very close to downtown and heaps of good restaurants. I'd say the cost of staying is...

When researching San Francisco accomodation, we were very disheartened by the often exorbitant prices we found. Being a young couple and having stayed in our share of hostels over the years, we researched Hostelworld and found an appropriate hostel with decent reviews, the Adelaide Hostel. We promptly booked a private ensuite room and were looking forward to our 6 night...

I spent my first 21 days in USA in this place. I love it. Simple, cheap in 2006 now it's very expensive... At least thats what I recently saw on Google :) but very convenient and on post street so better area to stay in downtown. Union square is 2 blocks away.

That's great to hear! Prices have increased all over the city in recent years; San Francisco is just such a beautiful place that everyone wants to be there! We still offer a rate that beats any of our competitors for a stay in a prime location downtown (like you said, Union Square is two blocks away). We're glad you were...

Stayed here with 2 friends whilst traveling down the West coast. We had booked in at the Adelaide hostel but on arrival we were sent here. At the time we were a bit worried about what was going on but everything was in place and we had a room at the Dakota. The room was small but clean and comfortable...

Please come see us again the next time you are passing through!

This isn't the first time I've stayed at the dakota hotel and it won't be my last! (i hope!). This time i left it to the other half to book a hotel for our stay in the city, suffice to say he made a mess of it and luckily the dakota could accommodate us. This is probably one of the...

I booked 7 nights at the Adelaide Hostel, a private room. But upon arrival was instead sent to the Dakota Hotel. There was no warning about this before I arrived. The room in Dakota was clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. However, it was very noisy, and I struggled to sleep even wearing...

Thank you for your review! We're sorry you found it difficult to sleep, the central location of the hotel means that it is situated close to downtown traffic, but this would be the case with any central downtown hotel location. We're glad you found it clean and spacious and enjoyed the free breakfast and accommodating staff. We hope to see...
