after looking at others bad reviews me and my husband cant understand what all the fuss is about. Andrews house is a beautiful Victorian San Francisco house. The location was also great, so easy to get downtown, haight ashbury, golden gate park. Castro is a great place itself! . The house has lots of character and antiques, Andrew had a... More

This was by far the worst place I have ever been. It started with the room not being what was promised. We paid for a room with a private, connect bath. What we got was a dirty room with a shared bath. The site has since been updated as having two rooms, shared bath. The entire house was dirty and... More

I booked this place before seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor, and then emailed to explain that I was very put off and wanted to see first hand before committing. I was coming on a romantic jaunt from the UK. Mr Whelan was clearly affronted by this, but as I'd paid up front, I was prepared for an expensive mistake... More

Upon entering we were greeted by both Mr. Whelan and the smell. Unfortunately we had not consulted trip advisor prior to arriving at this place otherwise we never would have put ourselves in this situation. We booked the room through booking.com and were under the assumption that we had paid the non-refundable rate in full at the time of booking... More

Just don't even consider this place. yes, the location is great and the house looks great from the outside.. but inside.. it's like from a terror movie. I stayed for a few nights and get this one.. Mr Whelan quoted me one price, when I told him on what he had quoted me he charged me tax. Tax? the payment... More

Wow. Could not agree more with the reviews - from the God awful smell that stays with you for days; to the kitchen that hasn't seen Windex in probably years; to the overgrown 'garden' in the back that needs a machete, some water and fertilizer; no telling when the sheets were last washed - think I even left with pink... I stayed at Mr. Whelan's house (it really is a stretch to call it a B&B) for three nights. I needed to come to SF for a few days on short notice so the B&B where I normally stay was booked. I found this place through Google maps. The location of the place is near main public transportation and the... More

Oh indeed, Andrew's house is perfectly located and it looks great from the outside. it is a house full of stories. But from the inside, the house - not with a lot of tolerance you can call this a B&B - is a disappointment. The old dog is still here. And he does not only smell, he has also some... More

Smelled like dog pee as soon as you walk in, not very clean, room had no door and no privacy, I tried to cancel and he basically threatens to charge me anyways, a total joke ! He is obnoxious and that house smelled sooooooooooo freaking bad! Not worth it!! I tried to air out our room but it never cleared,... More

The house is in the heart of Castro, all the bar's and restaurants are within a block, the price is rasonable and the rooms are clean, you have access to all the mayor restaurants and believe you can walk anywhere from there. Mr. Andrew is a very nice guy, great sense of humor and also he knows his town, ask... More
