Stayed there during the summer holidays; lovely sized room, nice and airy as well. The beds were comfy enough but a little wobbly; not really much of a problem though. Communal toilets/shower weren't really a problem either, it wasn't a very busy hotel when I was there and everything was clean. Wouldn't have gotten through the trip without the free...

We stayed for 3 nights, the staff was very friendly. Everything was very basic. We had some party people in the room next to us. The staff was fast to tell them to be quiet. My advise should be to bring earplugs. The location is very good.

Style: There's 12 foot ceilings in the reception on the first floor that contains a modest table where the receptionist sits, a 20 year old leather covered sagging couch with matching foot rest, and the coffee machine. Included with your stay, it'll steam your milk for a latte or drip your coffee, at all hours of the day. There's a...

We stayed there for 4 nights and it was good despite not having an elevator and have to use the stairs. They accommodated our request to have a room on the first floor which is more of a mezzanine above the hotel lobby and they had our 2 rooms beside each other as 1 room has a private bathroom and...

The hotel is very basic, but has everything you need. We stayed in a shared bathroom/toilet room. The shared amenities were always clean and we never had to wait. The hotel is conveniently located between several buslines making it easy to get around. The neighborhood has some nice restaurant/cafe and take-out places. The only downside of the hotel is that...

I just stayed at the Casa Loma Hotel for two nights during a recent visit to San Francisco. First, the PROS: a large clean room with two (albeit prison-sized) twin beds and a sink (very clean toilets and showers down the hall -- as advertised); nice front desk people; free gourmet coffee in reception; great WiFi; good location. Now, the...

Great location for us...the reception staff super helpful, the only downside was our room was onto the centre of the building and We had to keep the blind closed so other rooms couldnt look in. Would've prefered a street view. Coffee was superb! A short walk to Haight Asbury

As an avid traveler, this hotel met my needs, but I find a list of pros and cons is more beneficial to other travelers. I will say though that I was seriously impressed by the value for the price, considering the location: Pros: 1 block from the bus station for #21, which takes you downtown one way and to the...

I stayed at the Casa Loma hotel for only 1 night, as i came to SF to see a concert. I arrived to the hotel a bit before check in time and the room was already ready for me. The hotel location was great for me, very close to the civic center. They are plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes...

Stayed at the Casa Loma for 4 nights. We stayed in a double room with sink and fridge, however shared toilets and shower rooms with other guest on our floor. The room and recption area were very clean. There was drinks machine which was free to use and plenty of tourist maps and info available. Hotel staff were polite and...
