Great location, there are quite a few trendy cafe's around, is about a 200m walk from a blue bottle coffee place. That can almost match the cafe's in Melbourne. In San Francisco I have found it difficult to find areas where I feel safe at night travelling by myself, but this is a good area. The hotel itself is clean...

This hotel was one of the best bargains I have had in a while. While the people working the front desk weren't the most knowledgable right off the cuff, they were more than willing to try and lookup any info you wanted. When we needed an extra blanket or towel they were quick to help. The hotel is super clean...

The non-smoking room stenched with cigarettes. The miss at the lobby explained that it is not possible as all the rooms were not smoking, but suggested we can use air-fresher...seriously? No elevator. Walls extremely thin. Had to listen to a porno-movie scenario in the nearby room for about half-an-hour. Had to wait for the hot water. The price was ~...

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights in September 2013. Good location (short bus ride into the center of SF), great night life short walk from hotel, good cafe Alamo Cafe across the road (go try out the bagels!!) The toilets / showers are shared, two on each floor. Very clean and never had to wait. No lift...

We were staying in the second floor and there was no elevator so we had to carry our suitcases up the stairs. Our room was small and had a sink and a fridge. The view from our room was another room. I guess there was like an atrium in the middle of the building. The walls were extremely thin and...

This is a good location, especially with the public transport links, but it is noisy, and if you have jet lag it will keep you up. Customer service is non-existent - we had no hot water for three days and there was no real attempt to fix this, and one girl even said it was the weekend so they weren't...

Located further away from the main attractions, the hotel is easily accessible via bus 22. Down along fell street there is also a hop on sightseeing bus stop available, which makes it easy to get to Haight-Ashbury district as well as the key attractions. The complimentary wifi makes it a plus point. Dislike the fact that there is no elevator...

We stayed at Casa Loma for 5 nights in July. This is a nice hostel, very clean, and a wonderful place to stay if you're on a budget and want to get away from the big tourist hotels. Casa Loma is 1.5 blocks away from Alamo Square, home of the Painted Ladies from TV. Also a block away from Hayes...

We stayed at the Casa Loma hotel in a double private with shared bathroom. The hotel is slightly off the beaten track near Alamo Square but was within a 10 minute walk of the tram and light rail services, buses did serve the surrounding roads but we never used them. The hotel room was basic but was clean and was...

I stayed in room 104 and it was like a prison cell. Maybe even smaller than that. It had a (squeaky) double bed, a sink, a window that looked into another room, and a set of draws. The door handle almost fell off every time I touched it haha. The room was miserable but fairly clean. The receptionists were uninterested...
