Stayed in north beach hotel with my wife from 14/7-20/7 at room 72. We knew it was a very cheap hotel but it was in our budget and we where ready for the "low" standards of the hotel. The rooms are very small but, if you are in a budget and used to it , you can handle it pretty...

The rooms are nice and compact, would recommend getting one with a window to the outside as you can get a nice breeze and plenty of light. There is a small microwave in the room to use. The bathrooms are nice and clean. Some of the staff at reception could do with a small lesson in customer service. Wehad a...

I wish we had stayed outside San Fran and driven in now. Not only was the parking a rip off but this hotel was awful. It was like student accomodation but I'm sure some people lived there. The rooms are tiny, there is no air from the windows and you look straight into someone else's room. The toilets and showers...

This was the first place that I stayed on my trip around the Western US and the accommodation got better after I left this place. The cons - Upon arrival I had to wait for half an hour for the staff to change shifts even though check in took a matter of minutes (particularly infuriating after travelling for 22hrs), the...

This hotel was nowhere near as bad as I'd anticipated due to all the negative reviews. We traveled as a couple and only stayed for one night, and were overall pleasantly surprised. Everything was very clean and well kept, and the rooms, though small, were pretty well decorated and homey. The communal bathrooms, too, were quite ornate and clean, though...

I was really worried when I read some of the reviews for this place, but it really wasn't that bad. I was in town for a conference, and Hotel North Beach fit my budget. Check in was fine- not rude, but not warm either. Just business-like. When I got in I tore my room apart looking for signs of bedbugs....

So we arrived in San Fran and bustled into the foyer of the Hotel. The Hotel Manager and a customer were having a MASSIVE argument - yelling - the works! She didn't back down because we had arrived. The foyer area looked quite nice so I was hopeful the rooms would be the same. When we went up to our...

Checkin was painful. I booked the room over the phone a couple of days earlier and that took over 40 mins. They couldn't get my name correct. When I tried to checkin they couldn't find my booking. It turns out they that spelt my name wrong again, despite me spelling it out about 10 times. The room was tiny, it...

The service and rooms were all terrible. The hotel is a infested with bed bugs and flies. Guests piss in the sinks and excrete all over the bathroom floor. It was disgusting. Security and front desk personnel both looked like drug addicts / dealers. Please stay away from this place.

I read several of the reviews prior to reserving the hotel, but wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt given it's proximity to the Ferry Building. It was an ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE experience. Sensed it the second I walked into the hotel -- 'sketchy', 'shady', 'run down' are the words that come to mind. The front door security looked...

As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
