Have stayed here previously as we visit SF frequently. Van Ness Inn usually has very competitive rate for this area of SF, so good value for the money. This stay is the first time we had a room on the top floor. It was even...More
First off, you're not getting a comparable hotel for the price in SF proper. Second, the location is unparalleled -- you're about three blocks from any of the seaside attactions, cable cars, Lombard street, all that good tourist stuff. Our room was huge -- windows...More
We reserved through hotwire, but hotwire cancelled unannounced, so when we arrived there was no booking. Instead of over pricing is in this situation they have us a better deal than hotwire!
Free parking! Decent, clean rooms
ok staff ok not overly forthcoming, not best value but ok for the area, all san fransisco was over priced in my opinion, rooms pleasant and like i say in title parking in union square some charge $60 a day
Well located, but avoid if you cannot sleep with noise as it is on a main road and walls are paper thin. Twin room was a bit small but sufficient. Apart from this the beds are super comfortable and linen clean. There were no duvets...More

America`s Best Inn San Francisco Hotel San Francisco ,
Russian Hill has evolved into a chic residential neighborhood with outstanding views from every corner. Combined with several great cafes, restaurants, antique shops and boutiques, it’s easy to see why any visitor would gladly leave their heart in San Francisco. Cars line up day after day to drive down Lombard Street, the “crookedest” street in the world, and make the slow creep downhill past charming period
homes. Polk Street is the main drag in this neighborhood, where you will find trendy bars, cafes and shops populated with locals, but for one of the most charming rides in the city, grab a cable car heading up and down Hyde Street.

Parking is free, but I'd say they only have about 15 spots. I got there early and it wasn't a problem, but it filled up fast. It's one of the last hotels in the Wharf area with free parking that I know of.
