PROS: On site parking, close to Presido, easy access to "trolley tour" stops, small deli up the road and bus stops within easy walking distance. CONS: Overpriced, small room, doughnuts and muffins out of a box for breakfast, would not accept discount coupons, poor TV reception and general customer service.

I loved it here. Quiet area, next to Presidio, you can see Golden Gate Bridge in the distance and plenty of buses around to access the city. The motel itself is nice, small, charming and classically American, which is exactly what we were after. It's simple and basic, with a few small bits and pieces for breakfast, but it's in...

This is a good compromise to stay in San Francisco without spending too much money. The location is not in the city center but the many attractions are at walking distances. Hence: convenient and not so costy. The staff is helpful and breakfast is good, though served in the lobby as a take-out.

If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg to stay downtown, this motel is a good choice. It is rather small and is booked full every night so make reservations early. You don't need a car since you can catch busses #30, #28, #45 across the street near Walgreens. It is located near the corner of Lombard...

Thumbs up for a room that was very clean. And, the beds were super comfy, We had no issues with noise that others mention in their reviews and had great nights of sleep. We don't know what the Manager's name was but he was a nice fella and helpful. We found that the #45 or the #30 bus near this...

This hotel/motel is located at the far western end of Lombard street, which means it is not close to the 'Crookest Street' section which is a tourist attraction. We spent 4 nights here in August, without a car. Within walking distance you can get to the shoreline near the Golden Gate, and the Palace of Fine Arts, a great place...

My husband and I loved our room here. We stayed here three nights. The bed was comfortable, very clean room, and the staff were extremely friendly and informative. My favourite part was the angled bathtub. Least favourite part was the cramped parking. However, it was a great place to stay and we would definitely stay here again! Will be recommending...

The first thing we noticed when we tried to get to sleep the first night was that we could hear the someone in another room snoring! That is how thin the walls are. But it is a really central location. Really easy to get around, it was clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great location near bus service and can was to Presidio, Crissy Field, and a couple of nice restaurants. The help staff was very friendly. The breakfast is extremely limited so don't plan on getting filled up from that. The location was safe and convenient and the room was completely adequate; clean and large.

The staff there were very nice and accommodating. Last year we stayed at the super 8 across the street and it was awful, the country hearth inn is much better!! The breakfast, service, and rooms are much nicer than I had expected here. The breakfast lobby has places to sit while you eat and if you want a waffle they'll...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
