Pacific Tradewinds Hostel is probably one of the most affordable places to stay given its ideal location in the heart of San Francisco! Many attractions like Fishermans Wharf, Union Square, Coit Tower, Chinatown, and so on are easily walkable from the hostel, apart from the nearby bus stops and BART station. The staff are super friendly and gave us a...

Everything was excellent from the very moment I arrived. The staff is friendly and everyone is quite friendly. In other words, the atmosphere was great and meeting people there really helped me make the most of my stay in SF. I highly recommend this hostel ! The only reason why I'm giving it 4 and not 5 stars is that...

If you want personal space and privacy you're better off at the Hyatt. Pacific Tradewinds is well run, clean, safe. Social activities every day. Wifi and two computer terminals for your use. Super friendly atmosphere. You will arrive as a guest and leave as family.

Very accommodating, very clean, and a lot of little quality of life things like the kitchen and common room. Very central and close to Chinatown and a couple of blocks away from Montgomery St. BART station/Market Street. Hosts are nice and I would stay here again.

Pleasant stay at Pacific Tradewinds Hostel. Clean rooms. Hot Shower. Great staff. The building is located conveniently close to the MUNI/Bart. Follow Sacramento street and you are by the waterfront in 20 mins. There are many bars and restaurants within walking distance which is great. Hostel was pretty small and up about 4 flights of stairs. Great staff with a friendly and safe environment. Very clean and tidy. Free towels and free sock wash! The hostel organizes a series of activities over each week, many of which are free (e.g. we went to "Darg Queens on Ice" while I was there). Provides a great opportunity...

Everything about this hostel is great. The employees are really committed to making your stay in SF the best possible. Always some activity going on if you don't feel inspired enough to find out what to do by yourself. 10/10 The people are also very diverse and friendly.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
