Firstly I want to thank the reviewers who wrote about Argonaut, as they were quite spot on. The location is perfect. It's not as noisy as you would expect it to be as it is further up north from Pier39 and most of the hustle and bustle of Fisherman's wharf. Make sure you don't miss the Powell & Hyde "turnaround" right by the side, before you reach Ghiradelli Square. The Maritime National Historical Park is a great place to walk about, make sure you visit the Maritime Museum and the Hyde Street Pier. I was a little bit disappointed not all the exhibit areas of the museum was open (I think it was maintenance work) Walk out on the Municipal Pier for a view of the SF Golden Gate Bridge. As for the hotel, the staff are very friendly and very helpful. We had to pay extra 50bucks to check in earlier than 3pm but we were upgraded to a bigger room (so no complaints there). The bathtub faucet diverter was really "tight" and difficult to use - but the service was excellent. The guy came almost immediately after we reported it. Note that because of the pandemic, you do need to inform them if you want the room serviced. Otherwise, you can ask for fresh towels and more coffee any time. Bring your own tea satchets though if you want a cuppa- we tried asking but they didn't supply that. If you have kids, just be aware the cute soft toy on the bed is not a freebie. The rooms are clean. Check out the "mini" museum just straight on from the reception. It's so cool to be in an historical building. The nautical theme interior design is in line with the location (MAritime National Historical Park). And when you head out for the day, the staff was so kind, they offered us bottled water (if you need them). Back to location: It's close to the Muni F line if the Cable Car proves a tad pricey. With the Muni Mobile App, you can buy a day pass for the Cable Car and ride them all for the experience. It's fun. Otherwise, walking around this area is delightful.

I LOVE this hotel. The staff is amazing, the rooms and lobby are clean and welcoming, and it is in a PERFECT location. You are right by restaurants, stores, and best of all, a Ben and Jerry's (you get 20% off with your key card from the hotel!!!). Although pricey, I HIGHLY recommend this hotel. It is beyond worth it!

Lovely room & perfect location but a kettle in the room & some teabags & a complimentary biscuit would have been a nice touch. Disappointed I couldn’t make myself a cuppa. Also no room service which again was disappointing.

debbierussell69, Thanks so much for your Tripadvisor review! While hotels unfortunately had to temporarily suspend some services due to local, state, and federal health mandates, here at The Argonaut we are continuously looking to find alternative workarounds in an effort to maintain the high standards of service our guests have enjoyed over the years. For example, traditional in-room dining is currently unavailable, but we are offering a "grab & go" concept instead. High-touch shared amenities such as water or coffee stations are presently not permitted, but we do offer complimentary individual water bottles at the reception desk and properly sanitized coffee/tea brewers in all guestrooms. In addition, for every room night, a guest receives a $10 food & beverage credit which can be redeemed at our Blue Mermaid Restaurant (including for items to-go). These are unusual times, and we do appreciate your understanding as we navigate through the pandemic. Let's hope 2022 will be the year of recovery! All the best, Stefan Műhle Area Managing Director
