This is THE PLACE to be! I visited the Argonaut Hotel in November over Thanksgiving. What a beautiful place in a perfect location! The decor is not just nautical, it's really unique and tastefully done. And so close to what I'd consider the "real/historic" San Francisco (Hyde Street Pier). Everyone I encountered in the hotel, whether it was management or... More

We stayed for 5 nights over Thanksgiving and had a great experience. From the doorman, to the front desk, from housekeeping to the restaurant staff everyone was friendly and helpful. A dog "station" with treats and disposal bags by the entrance made everything so much nicer. Literally steps away from Hyde park. We would recommend the Argonaut to anyone traveling... More

The location of this hotel is perfect to explore San Francisco. Walking distance to many attractions. Service was great, rooms are smallish (or ours was anyway, and it was an upgrade room. Valet service for car parking and closeness to all the forms of public transit makes having fun easy.

Nice big rooms , super comfy beds , concierge was helpful in booking us tickets to an NFL game (higly recommend - get there early to enjoy the tailgate festivities) . Location was excellent, walk over the road to the ocean to see Golden Gate Bridge, and 15-20 stroll to pier for Alcatraz .. very nice hotel for a price

We loved the location - right by the pier, close to connections for tours and fun shopping for little gifts to take home to the family. The area was very safe, lots of lighting, and it got quite around 10pm (great for sleeping).

We were looking for a hotel that was well placed to enjoy San Francisco without renting a car, and wanted something fairly nice as we were staying several days. This location was amazing, in between Ghirardelli Square and the Wharf on a safe, fun corner, right beside the end of the cable car route. The staff were all extremely friendly... More

We stayed at the Argonaut for Thanksgiving weekend. It is in a good location, right across the pier and very close to tramways. The room was clean, no complain and the staff was very friendly. I would have given it 5 stars if it wasn't for a housekeeper screaming in the hallway at 8:30am "Housekeeping!!! Housekeeping!!!!". I called guest services... More

A very pleasant and comfortable hotel in a great position in Fishermans wharf area. Room was great size, although dark like most modern hotels . The small window made it feel more gloomy that it needed to be, but it was well decorated and welcoming. Bathroom looked a bit dated and like an old Holiday Inn or similar so an... More
