I spent four days in this stunning place - and I was more that pleasantly surprised by the warmth and hospitality of the proprietors -not to mention the uniquely prepared and delicious breakfast offerings! My room was comfortable and quiet and you certainly can't beat the convenient location! Thanks for helping making my trip memorable and comfortable as well.

My husband and I spent three nights at the Parsonage in San Francisco. The inn is charming with so much history, interesting art (new and old) beautiful antiques and the inn keepers John and Joan were lovely hosts. Our breakfast each morning was filling and delicious. I would recommend the Parsonage unequivocally without hesitation. Our only regret was that we... More

I stayed for six nights and I am so glad to have chosen the Parsonage. I had a wonderful time at this beautiful old house. It breathes victorian class. You feel like you are plunged into the 19th century. Beautiful furniture, high ceilings, tall windows in an oriel, tasteful decoration. Joan and John are superb hosts who will make you... More

Past its prime. Good location.Tiny room, no chair, no closet, tiny window, depressing.NO housekeeping--there 4 nights--one night there was housekeeping--could tell because a dirty rag was left between our pillows.Told proprietor so he freshened another night which meant he made the bed, no clean bowl in bathroom, no folded towels etc.Breakfast was skimpy and coffee was on request and also... Warm and comforting atmosphere; room was furnished with a great attention to detail to the time period. Bathroom was amazing! Wonderful crepes for breakfast. Joan and Jone offered a personal touch to the stay. They offered me a glass of wine and we had a nice conversation about the local history of the neighborhood. I used to live on the... More

The neighbourhood is interesting, but the b&b and its owners even more so. It is clear they know what they are doing. All the details are taken care of. The rooms are spectacular, the breakfasts are scrumptious (no need for lunch) and to top it all off there is Carson (of tv fame), the most polite dog ever, who indeed... More

Joan and John were wonderful hosts, but the warmest welcome was from Carson the curly dog. I am allergic to dogs, so cautious, but I did not react to her at all...apparently the breed is hypoallergenic, which worked for me! The house is beautiful: an authentic wooden clad Victorian house over three floors. I stayed in the downstairs "garden" room,... More

We chose this B&B because we like Victorian/Edwardian properties with furniture to match and good facilities. It didn't disappoint. It is a short bus/tram ride from the centre (or a long-ish walk, which we did) but we like not to be in the centre of a city as it feels too built up. Everything about the place had an artistic... We stayed here on recommendation. A lovely warm welcome from Joan, John and their dog Carson made for a relaxing visit. We stayed 1-5 July in the Julia Morgan room on the top floor. It was very comfortable with a spacious shower room ensuite. We arrived late at night with our suitcases and were so pleased that Joan had an... More

Looking for something different from the centrally located hotels we've stayed in previously, we looked for a B and B in a new neighborhood. We could not believe our luck when we arrived at a beautifully restored Victorian house in a lively and charming neighborhood filled with boutiques and great restaurants! The house is a treasure chest of wonderful art,... More

Hayes Valley
Chock full of designer boutiques, art galleries, funky shoe stores, and great restaurants, it’s hard to imagine Hayes Valley once languished in the shadow of a major freeway.
