We spent 2 Nights here and all I heard was "Find out where they got their sheets"! Great night sleep close to where we were going. Can't go wrong! Bar was hoping both nights with a wide range of drinks and conversations going on. Everyone there was helpful.

For us it was very disappointing. While the hotel is generally very nice, modern design, good location, nice staff, indoor pool, gym, 60“ TV and on site high class restaurant, there were a couple of serious issues for us. We came with the kids to a family retreat in the city. First thing we were very surprised that such a...

Fantastic hotel. Warm, caring, friendly, professional service. I stayed at the Intercon with my wife for 5 days. During our stay I was incapacitated with pre-existing back pain. The entire staff – from the front desk to the housekeeper to the room service staff, went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and well-cared throughout our stay....

Beautiful hotel with great service! The rewards program is good, the concierge is helpful, internet service is fast, and the views of the city are excellent. Conveniently located near Westfield Mall, Market Street, and downtown shopping. I truly enjoy staying here.

Summary: This is a good premium hotel in downtown San Francisco. Hotel staff will try to get you to pay for room upgrades to get a view (probably not worth the price). Rooms are clean, well maintained. Staff can be a little off-putting if you do not look like a tourist or business traveler (e.g. new clothes or business casual,...

I had never stayed at an Intercontinental Hotel previously and this was a fantastic intro. I had signed up for the Ambassador program.  We arrived in SF the day before our reservation and planned to stay with friends. The Intercontinental called and said that we would be upgraded to the Club Lounge, which was absolutely incredible. On top of that, they...

What you would expect from an Intercontinental hotel - convenient for business, terrific restaurant, great location to shopping, movies, other restaurants, etc. Friendly and attentive staff, clean, lovely and large rooms, featuring both a shower and a bathtub, robes, hairdryer, good lighting and large screen television. Nice gym and conference space. An excellent choice for business or personal travel.

As an Ambassador member, I opted to book Club Room to gain access to the Club Lounge. I booked just for one night for my sister and me but the airline cancelled our flight and rebooked us the following night due to the storm and heavy rains. I decided to check out and move to Marriott for a cheaper rate...

Kicked off a three week holiday with a few days at this establishment on our way through. A solid showing by intercontinental here and not much to complain about. it does have a far more business feel than the Mark Hopkins that we stayed at on our way home but the location does lead you to think that any way...

I recently stayed 1 night at the InterContental for business. The hotel has a good location in SoMa and was convenient for where I was heading. I arrived a little late around 10 PM and check in was a bit slow but not too bad. The room was nice, pretty standard 4 star and was a nice size. I appreciated...

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
