We are IHG members, but chose to stay on the Executive floor with our Chinese friends who were visiting the USA for the first time, The service and staff was exceptional, rooms great as you would expect. Other downside was the location, there were a lot of one way systems around the hotel. Front desk staff could not do enough...

We stayed at the InterContinental San Francisco on an extended layover on our trip from the east coast to Maui. We arrived at the InterContinental on Black Friday at noon. Early check-in, no problem. Wrong bed configuration on the reservation, no problem. Upgrade the room, no problem. Our room was extremely clean, modern, VERY quiet, quite large for a a...

We stayed at the Intercontinental over the Thanksgiving weekend. Staff: You will be impressed no matter what luxury hotels you have visited around the world. Peter Koehler, Regional Director of Operations and General Manager, Hizkia Larranaga and Natalie Lopez of Guest Services far exceed all expectations. We were assigned the room we had requested. We returned at the end of...

Stayed two nights. Rather nice hotel. Room was spacious with a comfortable kind bed. The bathroom was nice, large, with a large walk-in shower. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. Really a pretty good stay. If I had to nit-pick, the shower pressure was weak given the LEED certification of the hotel. Location is pretty good, a couple blocks south...

My husband is an Intercontinental ambassador so we were treated like royalty at this hotel. We got upgraded to one of the top suites and it was absolutely beautiful . Stayed from 11/20 to 11/24. Not a bad hotel. Clean rooms, property is only 5 years old. Level of service is not what I am accustomed to at an Intercontinental. Stayed at the InterContinental for a couple nights recently. Hotel is very nice. Comfortable, contemporary room. Good wi-fi. Quiet. Close to Moscone, but otherwise not as in the middle of things as some other hotels. But still a reasonable location if you don't mind (or like) walking a bit.

Staying in SoMa

Neighbourhood Profile
SoMa
South of Market (SoMa), has an urban and sophisticated vibe, but you're more likely to find big nightclubs and lots of industrial loft residences than you are to find boutique shopping. Although it’s the epicenter for tech startups in the city, visitors will be able to do more than just business - museums, top quality restaurants, and the San Francisco Giants now call this neighbourhood home. Most of its freeway-sized streets may not capture the same character as other neighbourhoods in the city, but pockets of charm, like South Park, can still be found throughout its side streets.
