Rented two rooms for the Women's March in SF. Service was spotty - at check-in, with bellman. Expected superior service due to the reputation of the hotel. Confusion with the other room during check-in, bellman not available to get our luggage - we actually got our luggage out of the room ourselves.

Staff was excellent! Hotel beds, linens, pillows fantastic - very comfortable! Good wi-fi, nice lounge area. Only drawback was bathroom - peeling bathtub, mold growing around caulking - drain backed up - outdated tiles - carpet was also dirty.

Small, clean rooms with nice location atop Nob Hill. Be aware that you'll be walking uphill to get back. Well-centered in the city and accessible to shopping and fisherman's wharf. I particularly like the Green Initiative to preserve H2O and towels.

Nob Hill prices and Holiday Inn services. No room service, no help, good formula for going out of business. Impossible to get your car from valet without calling the front desk (and waiting) then they call the valet or the bellman to do his job. They lost my car request so we had to wait another 15 minutes to get...

The hotel is located in a great spot. Not too far from everything. I liked how you get a bottle to fill up your own water in the lobby. The only drawback was the compulsory amount you have to pay for tea and coffee. It's $13usd per person, which is rather steep. It would have been nice to have a...

This hotel had a really good feel about it. It was quite chilled and on the wall they had a map of San Francisco and where famous musicians were from. It was also really cool how on the back of the room keys there were facts about the place to do with innovation. One was about the invention of the...

Great location, friendly staff and many landmark locations within walking distance. The only negative mark is that room service menu was missing unless it's not available but they seem to have a small restaurant on the premises so it could have just been me not noticing it.

Lovely hotel in great location. Walking distance to many neighborhoods including Chinatown, Union Square, North Beach and Fisherman's Wharf. Excellent guest service and the room arrangements are very comfortable including a reading/cocktail area with 2 chairs. However when our advertised rate of $127.50 was augmented by taxes, fees and parking, the cost was $236.25/night. Ouch. We loved the property but...

Staying in Nob Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Nob Hill
Swanky and stylish, Nob Hill sits in the heart of the city and is home to amazing architecture and views. The hike to the top can be a challenging workout for those who forego a cable car ride, but they will be rewarded with some of the city’s most beautiful architecture adorning its peak. Originally populated with mansions after the Gold Rush, most if not all were devastated in the 1906 earthquake and fire that followed. Luckily all is not lost; storied hotels and Grace Cathedral surround Huntington Park. Having a drink or dinner while taking in the sunset and views at the "top of the Mark" is tough to beat.
