Shared bathroom and shower was fine but they could've atleast kept them clean at all times whole trip not once was picked up. I felt dirty the whole time while showering. The small trash can in restroom was overflowing.

Check in to two of their expensive rooms to find them both a sauna. Front desk told us their was nothing that could be done as heating must be on 13 hours a day. So had roomed totally over heated, radiators on full and all fans and windows open. Not good enough for a $300 plus hotel. Complained three times...

Just spent 2 days at the Herbert hotel. The location is good, the hotel global looks is good...but upon arriving at the hotel there is no one at the reception and several persons are already waiting. The receptionist will not come back before 20min. That seems to happen pretty regularly. Better not be on a hurry! Room looks fine...but San...

Herbert Hotel is a small and simply hotel, really close to Union Square. Rooms and Bathroom very small, and during the night you can heard the busy Street. There is not breakfast, but it is possible to find different bar on the Street.

Loved the location of this hotel with Cable cars right outside the door, shopping and food within 1-5 minutes walk. Booked room with private bathroom and the room was spacious, beds comfortable and clean room. The staff that worked here were outstanding and could walk into any hotel, any continent and be snapped up for their professionalism, helpfulness and friendliness....

Very well located The Herbert hotel is very near to the Union Square, providing excellent acess to shopping venues, food, bars and public transportation. The room was pretty clean, but you will have to deal with the noise from the streets. Aside from that, I would recommend for anyone seeking for a good place to sleep.

The hotel is clean, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. The accommodations are simple and basic (just a bed and bathroom), which is great for students, single travelers and those who don't need the added frills of the more upscale hotels.

Location: Great placing in the middle of San Francisco`s shopping facilities. Right next to union square, the cable car starting point and all the major stores and shoppint centres. The room (Deluxe room): A bit too minimalistic interior design for my liking. Its a big room with a queen size bed, a small safe, fridge and coat-hanger. The floor is...

Hello! It sounds like you had a mostly positive experience staying with us at the Herbert, but I do understand and appreciate your concerns with certain things at the property. The wooden laminate, or fairly all non-carpet flooring, would give the floor a cold feeling because of it is responsive to the heat, which affects the temperature of the flooring....

Stayed at the Herbert for for five nights from 11th to 16th March as part of a three weeks holiday to California. I chose not to write a review until after our holiday so that I could take into consideration other hotels we had booked and compare. Chose the Hotel for the prime location right in the heart of the...

Good value for a very central location. Rooms smaller than most US standard rooms but more than adequate. Clean and boutiquey feel. Even on a cold night, room was warm and needed window open, so might have been noisy if at front of hotel ( back rooms were fine)
