Stayed here for 3 nights and was happy with the experience. This is an older hotel, so don't expect the sparkly 5 Star experience....... my room was clean and the bed comfortable and the hotel is walking distance to shops, restaurants, cable car and other forms of transport. I enjoyed the breakfast each morning......basic, but found the muffins and pastries...

This is a nice, older hotel but it's showing signs of wear. It has a front and rear staircase, great if you are staying in the rear of the hotel as the elevator, located at the front, is quite small. It also has radiator heat which they turn on at night and off in the morning. That would be okay...

Noisy fans outside the rooms with no climate control so you're forced to keep the window open to cool down. Rooms were small and bathrooms dirty and there was a hole in the shower floor. All the staff apart from cleaning staff were rude and unhelpful. The food for breakfast was terrible! Couldn't eat there at all.

Stayed here for 3 nights of our 10 night American trip from NY-San Fran-Las Vegas. We had an amazing time in SF, the sun shone & we were close to lots of attractions and walked the whole city over our three days. We wanted to spend as much time or of the hotel as possible. When we arrived the 'concierge'...

We booked at the last minute, so there was not a lot of cost friendly hotels available. There was a massive conference on in town and we were warned by our travel agent it wasn't going to be great. The room was very small, not much room to walk past the bed etc. It was also very warm and had...

Reasonably priced, clean, dated (which we like), very good location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, shuttle to airport....what could be better!!!!! We were in town for Hamilton at the Orpheum Theater and this was very conveniently located for us.

What the Beresford lacked in luxury it made up for with clean, comfortable rooms and friendly, helpful staff. Location was perfect, only two blocks from Union Square. I had read bad reviews about the complimentary breakfast but was pleased to find that it was basic but absolutely fine and good quality, again, not luxurious but very acceptable. I also read...

We spent a few days in San Francisco and stayed at the Hotel Beresford. First impression was that the hotel was really old. But it does have character. Rooms are small but comfortable. Same with the bathroom. Just a note that they don't have safes in the rooms but to have safety deposit boxes in the reception.

A nice hotel with a very friendly staff. The continenetal breakfast was good, and was served downstairs in the bar. In our rather small room bar sounds could not be heard. Rooms are expensive in San Francisco, and this hotel is no exeption, but situated close to the center good value for money.

The best thing about this hotel was the location. Can't be beat at the price. The rooms were small but comfortable however there didn't seem to be a way of controlling the temperature. The breakfast selection was meagre. Muffins, croissants and cereal. No toast/water and only two cereal selections. The coffee was terrible. The hotel staff seemed to be very...
