I asked for a quiet room and it was, after 10pm. I was in room 907 and it was a little warm and had no air conditioning, but they do have ceiling fans, I had the window open until I went to bed and all I heard was yelling, sirens and more yelling. I heard this was next to a... More

We booked Hotel Carlton for our honeymoon. We stayed 5 nights and we loved this hotel. The staff were very nice and gave us great recommendations for restaurants. The area is good and close to Union Square. The room was very nice and spacious. They also have FREE wine in the reception area at night and have someone who sings.

Just as quirky and hip as you can expect in SF. Live music, free wine and eccentric art. The rooms were nice and quiet and the hotel was located very central. Perfect for our weekend trip. Need to add that the service was above average too.

The man that checked us in was very nice and very helpful, they made us feel very welcome and very important, the parking sucks so I just opted for the valet parking for $40 while I was looking for parking they sang happy birthday to my girlfriend without me and gave her a free bottle of some delicious wine, touché... A quaint hotel with small but well furnished rooms. The walls are a bit thin and can be noisy depending on your neighbours. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The hotel is quite well situated for sights either walkable or by use of buses or cable car connections. It is not too far from Union Square area. Free wifi... More

Although on the average everything is fine (location, room size, amenities etc) I have two remarks: one is the noise. You can literally hear your neighbours word for word. Earplugs needed! The second is cleanliness. The bathtub still had hair in it from the previous person. Overall the hotel seems pretty run down. Decor has Asian elements which has to... More

Hotel is not extraordinary but it is just a great place to stay. We had a lovely welcome, I expected the rooms to be bigger though. Cute design and cozy still. Great service and fast check-in. This hotel is most definitely worth its stars!

Decent sized room, slightly dated but immaculately clean. Well placed for getting around San Francisco. We both walked and got a local bus to get to fishermans wharf. Staff were very welcoming , highly amusing and gave sound advice about getting around. Really enjoyed the city and felt totally safe walking around. We used the hotel valet service to park... More

What a lovely friendly hotel. We had a lovely welcome from Theo who told us so much about San Francisco when we arrived and them appeared later to provide the musical entertainment at the daily 5.30pm happy time/free wine event. We followed the food recommendations each day we stayed and were very impressed with the results. The décor is a... More

Very helpful desk staff with a great sense of humour. Helpful at recommending laundromat that delivers back to your room. Happy half hour @ 5.30 pm with entertainment is a nice touch. Beds are comfortable and rooms serviced daily.
