I think my husband really kick started the complimentary wine hour at 530 the first night we were here as every night after it got busier. One night a staff member was visibly surprised by the size of the group. Complimentary wine and popcorn were offered from 530 to 630. Great pick me up for exhausted tourists!! Rooms were nice... The room was small, the Televisions in the building were all connected to one antennae and got TERRIBLE reception, the internet was horribly slow, the "Fitness Room" was a glorified closet, and they double billed me after my employer had already paid. It took a week of correspondence to get them to cancel the charge.

We stayed at Galleria park hotel for 2 nights and while our hotel stay was comfortable and wonderful, the location left a little to be desired. The hotel is a few blocks away from union square and while it was walkable (15 mins), we wished we had stayed in union square itself. The hotel is located in the financial district... More

The hotel is recently renovated and the rooms are clean and nice, not that spacious but not too cramped. Service was very warm and staff attentive. Location is perfect for shopping or attending a fair in the convention centre. Easy to drop in middle of the day for a quick nap or leave the shopping bags. As a bonus the... More

This was a great hotel. Room was tight for my me, my husband and our two older teenage children but we managed. It was close or in walking distance for all we needed. Close to Montgomery station that got us from the airport and to the Oracle Arena to see Golden State play. The only issue is we have is... More

The boutique hotel is great for location. Walking distance to everything, Bart station a block away, shopping district and restaurants around the corner, 15 minute walk to Embarcado where Pier 39 is located. Just further up on Embarcado is Pier 33 to catch ferry to Alcatrax, Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf. Good walking shoes are needed though as you do... More

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Conveniently located in the heart of San Francisco, Galleria Park gives you easy access to everything the Bay Area has to offer to its visitors. The hotel is located with easy access to the Bay Area's central transit systems of BART, MUNI and the fabled cable cars. Within blocks are Union Square, Chinatown, the Financial District, Moscone Convention Center, and several world-class museums. The hotel is just steps away from world-class shopping destinations in Union Square--an area that is definitely a tribute to the power of shopping. Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Barneys New York, Gump's and a very substantial Macy's are right on the Union Square. The venerable Bullock and Jones and Tiffany and Co. are within walking distance, as is the nine-story Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre with its three-level Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's. It is also a center for exclusive couture and high fashion, with boutiques dedicated to Betsey Johnson, Kate Spade, Herve Leger, Karen Miller, and Michael Kors. Post Street, which is a block away from Galleria Park is where the high-end stores are located including Ralph Lauren, Ferragamo, Juicy Couture, Tory Burch, Ferrari and Porsche clothing stores. ... more   less
