I can easily give this hotel 5 stars.....for what it is. Clean, conveniently located and friendly staff. They have recently remodeled and the prices have gone up, but still a great deal. This time I had a room on Grant Street. Heard the bustle of the city, but Grant isn't a busy street, so it wasn't intrusive. The coffee in...

This hotel is very clean and staff were all fantastic! Location is awesome, Chinatown to your left, Union Square to your right. We had a double room but it was a little tight, but we were only in the room to sleep. We didn't think we'd get a good night's sleep as the bed seemed very hard....we actually slept like...

Many of the employees are functionally illiterate, Several employees feel that their current jobs are made simply too demanding to take on the additional meetings that would be necessary. You GO, Sandra Wilford!

We have an overnight stay here at the end of Jan 2017. Great Location at the entrance of China Town. Rooms were small but very tidy. Our room was on the main street side, so a little noisy, but typical for the city. Very easy walk down to union square to get to City attractions. No problem staying here again...

Good value and Ideal for short visits. The hotel appeared to have been renovated very nicely. The Reception was very good, cheerful and helpful. The location of the hotel is just what we hoped for; walking distance to Union Square and Market Street. Getting an Uber cab in the area was very easy.

Stayed over night in a double room. The location was great for what my family wanted to do which was stay in the China Town area. The price was decent and the hotel looked clean with modern features. The room; however, was small. The photos are deceptive and does not show the general size of the room making it look...

Stayed here for 4 night exploring the city. Great location for public transport, and easy to get an UBER pickup outside. No breakfast although coffee served, never tried it. Posh Bagels two streets down was a great alternative. Internet slow (even for surfing and email). Had a 6th floor room facing the street, quiet with the windows shut. Clean. Friendly...

This hotel often gets low ratings because it sits in the shadow of some of San Francisco's finest. Just four blocks from Union Square this old hotel has been updated with a bright lobby and modern rooms. But don't expect the Marriott. The staff is well trained and competent. The one elevator is slow and the AC/Heating is a single...

We stayed two nights at the Grant Plaza Hotel. With San Francisco's expectedly high room prices, this was a very reasonably priced hotel, and its location was simply outstanding--just a block north of the Chinatown gate, with eateries and shops very close by, including Union Square only a few blocks away. Hotel was easy to walk to from the Powell...

We enjoyed staying here during our trip to San Francisco. This hotel is such a great value compared to other places to stay in SF and considering its location. It's very centrally located close to everything and to transport links. It's just on the border of Financial District and Chinatown, so it gets a bit busy with traffic noise in...

Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
