On a trip to the Bay Area to spend time with family, but not wanting the hassle of renting (and parking) a car in such an expensive city, our prime concern was to find a nice Hilton or Marriott property close to where we wanted to be; we chose the Hilton SF Financial District, which is actually a teeny bit...

Our family stayed 4 nights at the Hilton San Fran Financial District in mid-July as our home base for our vacation in SF. In my opinion, great value for this hotel. Great location to visit Chinatown, Union Square, Little Italy, all can be easily reached on foot....need to take either a taxi, or public transportation to get to Fisherman's Wharf,...

We stayed at the Hilton for two nights with our daughters. The room was TINY with two double beds instead of queens and the bathroom was only big enough for one person at a time (not ideal with kids who need assistance). The beds were also extremely soft which is not great for bad issues. I thought the halls felt...

Dear HighStandardsReq, Thank you for staying with us on your recent trip to San Francisco. We are very sorry to hear about your overall disappointment at our hotel with the size of the room and beds and the wait for the elevator. All of our rooms with 2 beds are double size. Great nights sleep in fairly good location. Quiet and comfortable, however we were given handicapped accessible room and no usual hilton honors service extras. Wish they would have had Starbucks nearer to hotel. Coffee available in room is mediocre and hotel charges $3.00 per cup down in lobby. Workout room is nice.

We we're arriving into San Francisco late so I paid more as wanted a hotel were I knew we'd get good service and an easy check-in. I was right, we got up to the room nice and fast. Excellent property. Bellman and front desk service was fantastic. I was given a nice room upgrade with a balcony overlooking the city. I ordered room service, which was quick and top quality. The room was clean and fresh and quiet. Overall, this is an excellent Hilton location, and I will be back on my next visit to SF.

This a a standard Hilton. Nicely decorated, clean, good amenities. It is located next to China Town and little Italy which is a fun location. Very central. Fitness center is better than average. We had booked a room in the Hilton at the end of a vacation leap-frogging across the States .. this was our last stop so thought it would be nice to book a more 'expensive' hotel in contrast to some of the cheaper hotels and motels we had previously been staying in at different locations. Sadly, this turned out to...

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
