Here for a conference for 4 nights. Lobby is in a state of flux as there is lots of construction going on. Our first room on the 16th floor was a corner room with a city view. Nice room, but air conditioning unit sounded like a blow dryer on high. A quick trip downstairs to the front desk and Ted... More

Rooms tastefully done up and very clean. Staff are friendly. Scott Cowen at the front desk was very helpful. Breakfast fare could be better. Best atrium I've ever seen in my travels. I like the location as it is not just scenic but close to most of the interesting places of touristic interest. Appreciate the free wifi.

Great location. Clean rooms. Great stay. We had terrible service at breakfast which is a shame when you are overpaying for mediocre food. Other than that the stay was great. It is a fairly large hotel. I attended for a conference and the conference hosting was awesome.

Had higher expectations for this hotel. Checkin was impersonal. Paid for the highest priced room, but still had to pay for breakfast and fast internet. No minibar, which was a disappointment, as I worked late in my room. Won't return to this hotel. Too many nice options in San Francisco to waste my time and money. KC

The hotel is well situated, within walking distance to the Ferry Building & Fisherman's Wharf (for those in shape an easy walk). Our room was of a good size but the bathroom was small. Coffee pod machine provided & the room is also equipped with a small refrigerator. I would recommend this hotel.

With a boast to have the largest hotel atrium in the world, this has a check in with a wow factor! It's a large hotel with everything that comes with that tag. Efficient but fairly impersonal, clean rooms with good coffee and amenities and I appreciated the free WiFi! Very good meeting facilities (which is why I was there) and... More

Have your money ready, and expect them to nickel and dime you. Front desk staff worked hard to NOT fulfill my requests, then they told me they hoped my stay was better. We were invited to stay as part of a wedding, and DO NOT plan to stay again.

The Hyatt Regency is directly across from the Ferry building, making ferry access very easy. There is also the San Francisco bike rental company, and they were great to rent from. We liked the location. We were out all day doing the tourist thing, then came back, and enjoyed a quieter time on our balcony. Fisherman's Wharf would have been... More

Housekeeping was average. Only full sized beds instead of Queen and when paying 350.00 or more a night I expected two Queen beds in a room for 3 adults. Very close to Pier 1 and the market, which is very nice. There is a front desk reno going on, but it should be nice when it is done.

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
