I have been a business traveler for 20years. During those years I have only experienced a hotel like this twice and it has been so long I can't remember where or when the last one was.

What a fabulous review of Taj Campton Place! You brought a huge smile to my face when I read your posting. Firstly, thank you for choosing Taj Campton Place from all of the wonderful choices San Francisco has to offer. We truly value...More

It's a large open area where tourists and locals gather, watch cable cars and crowds go by, enjoy a snack, or plan their day of shopping and
sightseeing, If feeling the pulsating energy of the city is on your agenda, Union Square is the place to soak it in.

Market St is within easy walking distance. Yerba Buena Lane between Market st and Mission St has some of the hip eating joints including Bluestem Brasserie, Amber, Delarosa and Tropiseuno, all very good restaurants. I would recommend all of them. Chinatown is not very far either and my wife and I walked back from R&G Lounge after dinner. Just be on guard and avoid the dark intersecting lanes.
