Stayed at the hotel for about a week. Rooms are comfortable, location is good for tourists - right at Fisherman's Wharf. The service at the restaurant in the foyer was very good and the food was better than expected. They even had gluten-free toast which was quite rare in the hotels I've stayed in around San Francisco.

This location is a walk from many of the wharf attractions. Easy pull in for valet parking, but it is $58 a night to park with tax. Rooms are decent but I was adjacent to a very loud street due to the buses so slept fairly little. Small lobby bar but no need...hit the many eateries close by in the...

The title says it all. Clean---yes. Nice---not really. The bar was good. Our air conditioner didn't work well, and we sweated all night. I'm a Marriott Gold member (50 nights per year). Normally they would comp a night like that....(didn't sleep much cuz it was too hot), but this hotel argued to give me 1/2 off. I wasn't pleased. Wouldn't...

So, we stayed at this hotel do to location for our first time in San Fran, normally we stay at Hilton Properties and this reinforces that. The rooms were nice but our smelled like fish, the bed was comfortable. I was shocked at how the staff didn't know how to get anywhere or know what is going on... Isn't that...

We traveled to San Fran and picked the Marriott because of the closeness to the Fisherman's Wharf. The location was the best thing about the hotel. The first thing we noticed was the sign on the door as you entered the lobby warning of cancer causing chemicals from the parking garage below the hotel. Luckily we were on a upper...

Located just a couple of blocks from Fishermans Wharf, this hotel offers clean and comfortable rooms but like everything else in this city, nothing comes cheap. At close to $300/night you would think they could include free Internet but you would be wrong. A car is a liability here... $50/night.

The Marriott San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf is ideally located for those who wish to stay near San Francisco’s iconic Fisherman’s Wharf as it is just 2 short blocks away with plenty of restaurants to choose from (see separate review of Tarantino’s) . Staying in North Beach / Telegraph Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
North Beach / Telegraph Hill
The aroma of freshly roasted coffee beans, the sounds of opera, and the sights of the romantic Italian ristorante come together to create the charming neighbourhood of North Beach, once the stomping grounds for the Beatnik Generation. Although parts of North Beach are known for nightlife that’s not always suitable for younger visitors, few neighbourhoods in the city exude as much European charm and style. Peruse a bookstore for the literature of Kerouac, Ferlinghetti and Ginsberg, grab some gelato and head to Washington Square for a perfect afternoon of people watching. Just east of North Beach, the hills and staircases of Telegraph Hill are a unique delight. At its peak, the art deco Coit Tower provides sweeping panoramic views of the bay and city. The beautifully landscaped Filbert Street Steps, a street too steep for a roadway, rewards those willing to hike uphill. Keep your ears open and you might even hear the squawk of the wild parrots who call this neighbourhood home.
