This hotel soars because it has some terrific people who make the stay wonderful. One, at the front desk, Cindy S, upgraded us so we awoke to magnificent views daily. The other was the concierge, Steve, who was incredibly helpful. From his favorite places in Chinatown to theater, to advising some Asians about a day in wine country, he always...

Beyond happy with our booking at Le Meridien. The staff was wonderful. Everyone from valet to front desk was helpful. We were delayed and checked in a 2 AM, the staff immediately offered us a 2 PM checkout and held our bags until 8 PM while sightseeing the following day. The room was modern, and clean-though not wowing by any...

I travel to San Francisco about one time per month for business, and I always stay at Le Meridien. One night last month, my meeting went late, and I showed up at Le Medien at 9:30pm without a reservation. At the front desk, I requested the "worst, cheapest" room available, and I was only half-joking because I needed a room...

I booked a room here for a little "staycation" for the weekend and was wonderfully surprised at the newly renovated and luxurious rooms. Great service from check in to check out, with everyone treating you like you are super special.

We had a large, well-appointed room with a striking view of the Bay. Everything in the hotel was immaculate. Staff were friendly and helpful and Steve, the concierge, even went so far as to walk us to a bus stop to make sure we were on the right track. Location is fantastic--easy walk to the Embarcadero and the Ferry building,...

Stayed here for one night and it was pretty enjoyable. The front desk staff was friendly and the location was pretty close to the tourist attractions (Near Chinatown, and the Ferry for starters). The room is pretty spacious as well. The breakfast selection in the morning was just OK... not too great on the selection of food but doable. Overall...

The hotel itself is fine...good location allowing for easy walks to Ferry Building, Fisherman's Wharf, North Beach, Telegraph Hill, Chinatown. And, staff very friendly. BUT, the NOISE...ugh!!! Stayed in rm. 2216...do yourself a favor & pick a different rm. You will hear every car/truck/van from this rm. And, the protesters with their megaphones each morning were a true nightmare...ruined my...

Nice Hotel. Friendly employees. Place is clean and walking distant to Chinatown. Right in the downtown area too. I love the pillows and sheets. Very comfortable. The room is nice. Very roomy and also nice bathroom. Big TV. I definitely will come back and stay here again.

We enjoyed our three-night stay at Le Meridien. We did not rent a car, as I hear parking is expensive. This hotel location in the Financial District is great, as we were able to walk everywhere. We flew into SFO and took the BART to the Embarcadero Station. On our return to the airport, we walked to the Montgomery Station....

Spent two days at this property during our recent trip to San Francisco. Check-in was a madhouse, but was moved along fairly efficiently by the bell staff and the desk associates. Our room was upgraded to a standard suite upon check-in, thanks to some SPG Suite Night upgrades. The Platinum guest amenities were ok, but this is an area where...

Staying in Financial District

Neighbourhood Profile
Financial District
The Financial District lies just east of Chinatown but can seem a world apart given it’s San Francisco’s version of Wall Street. The rush of business people make up a hectic weekday and add to a frenetic pace of life, but visitors who spend a few hours walking the narrow streets will be rewarded with fine examples of historic and contemporary architecture, including the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. After business hours, bars and restaurants quickly fill up with happy hour revelers. Stocks aren’t the only kind of market being followed, the Ferry Building Marketplace on the Embarcadero is a gourmet food emporium and farmers market that will satisfy anyone working up an appetite.
