This is the most incredible hotel I've every stayed at, and I've stayed in plenty. I travelled to San Francisco with my 3 sisters and a brother-in-law and we stayed in a Premier Suite. There was plenty of room and privacy for all of us. We had a full size kitchen, with full size appliances. We had a dining room,...

Beware the Steinhart! If you are expecting a HOTEL, it isn't. It is a RESIDENTIAL hotel meaning that there are no amenities. It is nothing like the picture shown on Tripadvisor. It is on the edge of one of the roughest neighborhoods in SF. Parking is in private garages and the one recommended by the hotel is usually full and...

Dear 244Traveler, We’re truly disappointed that we didn’t have the opportunity to improve your experience during the time of your stay, as the comfort of our guests is our highest priority. Please note that The Steinhart is advertised as a residential hotel and we never intended to mislead our guests in any way. I am truly sorry for the confusion....

I can't say enough great things about this hotel. I am actually a San Francisco native and live in the city, and needed to book an apartment for a visiting friend. I've lived in SF for the last 8 years and know the neighborhoods, architecture, and prices quite well. So I was pretty picky about things, since I know what...

When my husband and me moved to San Francisco we spent the first 3 weeks in the Steinhart. We had a wonderful time there. It's a charming hotel with friendly staff. Especially Dimitar, the GM, was very helpful. Whenever you have a question or need advice, just ask him. Our apartment on the 6th floor came with a well equipped...

Just stayed for a week at the Steinhart. Everything was wonderful - from the front desk staff to the location. Rooms are well apportioned and beautiful - reflecting the city's Victorian history. Just a few blocks away from the Powell and Mason/Hyde cable cars. While others have commented re: proximity to the Tenderloin, it was not an issue and front...

Thoroughly recommend the Steinhart, you get great value for money in what is a pretty expensive city. It’s clean, spacious, quiet, secure, free internet and really helpful manager. I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment with separate kitchen and living room, perfect for a 10 day work trip. It also has a real feeling of history unlike the cookie cuter Marriott...

Elegant, sophisticated, convenient Nob Hill location. Loved the full kitchen and beautiful decor. Convenient to great restaurants, coffee houses, grocer, laundry. If you need a reasonably priced long-term "home," you have found the place.

We stayed here for 5 nights, and it was a great place to explore San Francisco from. The apartment was small but good value (we had the Deluxe Studio), with a comfy Murphy bed in the living room. After reading some of the reviews I was worried it would be too small or uncomfortable, but it proved to be very...

It REALLY saddens me to write this but I think that people should be armed with the facts before making the difficult choice of selecting a hotel. I chose this hotel on the back of the wonderful reviews it received. I absolutely agree...The Steinhart is truly a stunning hotel. The service was excellent and the room was amazing. I absolutely...

Dear Isnice, That our location in lower Nob Hill in no way should be confused with your experience walking through the Tenderloin from the subway station. The Tenderloin area is indeed an area to be avoided if possible so would not suggest exiting BART at the Civic Center Station unless planning to take a taxi to the hotel. Best regards,...
