Maybe I should just copy and paste David N's review (see below). Killer location, lovely classic architecture, friendly staff and the "experience is... mediocre." Exactly. I also stayed on Towers side, I believe 1794. Front desk said I was being upgraded to an "updated" room....More
There on business for two nights. I stayed in the tower and had a late check in. At 11pm the staff was a lot more alert than I was. Nice room, big bath and great views.
Room service was prompt and good, the hotel staff...More
We stayed at the Westin for 3 nights in November as part of my 50th birthday trip. The rooms that our friends and ourselves had were fantastic with marvellous views across the bay - very clean, with every amenity you could think of.

We had the same challenge. From memory the normal check out time is 10am. When we asked about late check out they offered us 1pm at no charge and later if we paid (i think it was 50% of the overnight charge). We opted for the 1pm and had them hold our luggage until we left for the airport. These things will all depend on availability. they are very helpful, so i would suggest phone them and ask what they can do for you.
