In June spent four nights at this hotel. It is an older hotel that has been renovated but retains some of it's old world charm. Rooms were well furbished, beds were super comfortable, all was clean and well kept. Just half a block from the Powell turn around for the cable car which takes you right down to Fisherman's Wharf....

The hotel was just newly renovated when we stayed and it looks terrific! From the outside you would never know how awesome this place is-it truly is a hidden gem. Upon walking in the lobby is gorgeous, modern, and sleek. In the mornings there is coffee available and wine during happy hour in the lobby. The staff is very attentive...

The taxi pulled up at the hotel and I'm thinking "what has the travel agent done to us" all I could see was a row of old buildings and one little, easily missed door to the hotel, but what a surprise, never judge a book by it's cover, it turned out to be a gem!!! The rooms were very trendy...

Not having an idea of the area for our first visit to San Fran, we made a good choice by staying at this location. The location was perfect.....in the midst of the cable car turnaround which is literally a few steps outside of the hotel entrance, in walking distance from Macy's, and that area as well. Walls are a bit...

My husband and I stayed here last week for vacation. The location is fantastic. It is easy to get to the hotel from the airport on BART for about $8 each way. It is easy to get to the major bus lines and cable cars. I recommend the location. The staff was really friendly and accommodating. The room was small...

My second visit at the Hotel Union Square was amazing again! I booked an Executive King Room maybe to get a better room which is maybe Street Facing and bright. Unfortunately, the room we get in the first place was very dark and we looked at the courtyard in the middle of the hotel. We just saw the other rooms...

Why would I give five stars to a 3 star hotel? Because I know what to expect in San Francisco, or for any big city, these days when you pay under $200. My needs are simple: 1. Quiet 2. Comfortable bed 3. Hot water. 4. Wifi 5. In room coffee. Everything else for me at this level is secondary. I...

Let me start by saying if you want a central location in San Fransisco, this is it. The staff are VERY friendly and helpful. Tad's next door for breakfast was great. Other than that, do not expect much more. The room I was in was left not dusted or wiped down, carpet was coming up, wad of hair behind toilet...

If you want to stay somewhere central in San Francisco without breaking the budget this is the place to go. The hotel wins on it's location if you want to be central, but the rooms are dark, stuffy and cramped. Our first room had a flooded bathroom, we moved and the second was fine but incredibly dark with no air con. Staff are very pleasant but overall it's fairly basic and tired. Wi-fi is also hit and miss.
