When I checked in the person at the front desk sent me to two rooms which had not been cleaned and then the third room was still being cleaned when I entered. I was unable to connect to wifi on my mac laptop. When asked to use the phone in the lobby, since I was forced to go there to...

I went to San Francisco for a conference with colleagues and we chose this hotel based on price and location. It was the cheapest we could find in a safe part of town and it was close to the conference hotel. Unfortunately, the rooms were tiny, there were no dressers, the TV had very few stations, and the wireless internet...

We have stayed here over about 15 or so years. It still amazes me when we come once a year or thereabouts that there are the same people working the desk and the concierge stand! One has been there since 1985, another for 15 years, another 12 years, and on it goes. And they do remember us as amazing as...

My husband and I visited San Francisco for the weekend to relax and celebrate our anniversary. This hotel ranked up there with the hooker hotel we stayed in Seattle one time. Looks are deceiving, the lobby was really beautiful, but the rooms sucked. The first room they stuck us in was right across from the elevator, so we told them...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and loved it. The staff on the desk were very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is located close to Union square and Chinatown so it's great for sightseeing in SF. The room was very clean, spacious and with free high speed wi-fi. I was sorry to leave and would definitely return.

I have stayed 4 nights at this hotel and paid 75 dollars a night thru priceline. That was a great deal, so i cannot complain much. I find the hotel location to be excellent, right next to the cable cars, and close to union square, and maybe 5 minute walk to powell subway bart station...The rooms are old, as the...

Hotel has quite old fittings (esp air conditioning which is very loud) and facade but a comfy bed. Quite nicely decorated but the bathroom could use updating. Walking distance to Union Square (about a block) but the street is quite scary and wouldn't go out there after dark by choice! We walked to Fisherman's Wharf from here but only for...

The hotel is cousy and cleen but our room despite was on the upper floor was too noisy. Staff extremely polite and friendly. Internet free

Wonderful hotel, very clean and neat in a classic SF building. Very comfortable bed. You can't beat the price for the location, this hotel is within walking distance to all kinds of resturaunts, China Town, downtown shopping and the MOMA. We're budget travelers and have stayed in cheaper hotels in SF but it is worth the extra $20 or $30...

This hotel is a clean, cheap, little hotel which is in a pretty central location within the city. The room we were in was quite small, and the bathroom was small and dated, however the hotel was clean and comfortable (and very cheap, around US$70 per night). The staff were friendly enough, the wireless internet was pretty good and overall...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
As the oldest in North America, San Francisco's Chinatown is an exotic experience. A unique neighbourhood decorated with colourful shops, historic streetlights, hanging lanterns, and pagoda roofs awaits behind the stone-carved dragon gates. Feast on dim sum at the tea houses, or meet the locals who gather at historic Portsmouth Square to play chess or practice Tai Chi. Fish markets, produce stands, tourist shops, jewelry stores, fortune tellers, temples and restaurants come together to create a world unto itself in this historic neighbourhood.
