This was a great spot for our family's spring break trip to San Francisco. It is just a few blocks to Union Square. There are lots of great restaurants in walking distance. I felt safe in the hotel and walking on the street nearby. It was reasonably priced (for San Francisco). The rooms are clean with nice furnishings. The beds...

Reasonably priced, vintage charm in the bedroom, sparkling modernity in the bathroom. The lobby makes a strong first impression, bright and airy, and the rooms live up to it. No breakfast, but San Francisco is hardly lacking for coffee shops. I was happy with my choice.

Stayed overnight to be at St. Francis Hospital early, and Vertigo is a short walk. The location is central and great to walk to Union Square, hop the Cable Car to the wharf, and stroll to China Town, and the neighborhood is safe to walk in. I loved the ease of those reserved parking spaces in front for loading. The...

I booked a hotel room online for Vertigo. The reservation was for 2 rooms for 2 adults and 2 children in each room. I was given, what I thought was a pretty good rate, for the area. However, when I arrived at the hotel the front desk person said that the rate was for 2 rooms with 1 bed. I...

Dear T M, We sincerely appreciate your business and are sorry to hear there were some issues during this recent stay. we picked this hotel because where it is located. we needed it to be centralized. I also love the theme and the hotel was clean and modern. the bathroom had everything nicely organized and the front desk was very helpful if we needed anything. the only thing that was crazy is the walls are a bit thin so we could...

We had a great stay at Hotel Vertigo. The hotel is old but has been completely updated. It got a funky makeover but it hasn't lost it's charm. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The location is on the edge of a questionable area but also very close to many attractions. There are many restaurants and stores right around...

Firstly the good points. The hotel is designed as an homage to Hitchcock's iconic SF-set film, with the film playing on a loop on TV in reception and the iconic stairwell something every visitor will want to photograph. It's also cheap and cheerful if you need a relatively central place to stay in the city. Staff were also friendly and...

The Hotel Vertigo's staff was very friendly. The hotel itself is somewhat dated, however I think that's the style they're going for. The room was clean, and the hotel was easy to find. I read other reviews and personally believe they were far too picky for their budget. San Francisco is very expensive so don't plan on getting a hotel...

The hotel is a bit "long in the tooth", but rooms are OK, with comfortable bed and bedding. WiFi was practically non-existent in room, and unexpectedly slow even in lobby. (The AT&T cellphone coverage in the area is also very spotty). Not a good location if you conduct business from the hotel, so hence only 2 stars.
