I stayed for over a week. You get what you pay for, but it was fine where I stayed (5th Floor). For $ 56/night (taxes incl), close to everything, and away from the seedier parts of downtown, it's a pretty good deal.

We had room 310 as per request away from the street. Room is sparsely furnished, bathroom has been upgraded, everything is simple and clean. Breakfast is included , not a very plentiful breakfast although there is orange juice, milk and real butter for sliced bread...More
Don't even think about it! Bed bugs are nocturnal so they're only suppose to come out at night, while your sleeping, when it's completely dark. We found a bed bug crawling on our pillow with all of the lights on when we'd just come back...More
The Astoria is quite simply brilliantly located. At the entrance to Chinatown and within walking distance of Union Square and the Financial District.
It's basic but for the low rates it is more than good value for money, with a decent continental breakfast thrown in....More
