We loved our stay here. The apartments were old but in perfectly preserved condition, with so much character, like no other place I've stayed in before. We were given complimentary Ghirardelli cookies on arrival which was a nice distraction from how wet we were from all the rain outside! The man who checked us in was very friendly and cheerful...

Thank you for your review...I appreciate your sharing facts about the area, such as market locations,etc...And thank you for noticing the preserved condition of the place! We strive to keep the same look & aesthetics from the time it was built (or thereabouts), and it's nice when someone takes notice! In a day and age when cookie cutter seems the...

The location of the motel is great, is walking distance to major attractions, and there are bus stops for several bus lines a couple of blocks away. We used Uber to go to further places (e.g. downtown) and never paid more than $10. Motel service is also very good, employees were welcoming, kind, and helpful. Check-in and check-out were fast...

I'm very sorry to hear that your experience was less than desirable. We have listed a detailed description of each room on our website, as well as all third party booking sites. The wi-fi had some issues during your stay, which does you no good now, but it is a newer system, and we worked out the bugs. Our rooms...

This motel is in a great location. The rooms are nice enough. Windows didn't lock and you need them open for air, so I didn't leave my laptop or other electronics in the room unattended. The rooms open to the outside so it didn't feel like my stuff would be that safe. That being said I personally didn't feel unsafe...

We ( 4 adults and a 2 year old) stayed in this hotel for 4 days in March of 2017. It was our first visit to SF and we really just wanted a clean convenient place from which to explore SF. This fit the bill perfectly. Positives: - a reasonable price ( for SF!) - Clean - the management folks...

It is a small family owned business and has a small town feel in such a large city. In my personal opinion this Motel is one of the best quality and service per dollar spent accommodations near the Marina distric, Presidio and world famous wharfs/piers. The Marina Motel is within walking distance to many great restaurants on chestnut st. A...

We stayed in March 2017 for two days in a queen bed with kitchenette the good:) good location and free parking, and room layout is ok. Also the courtyard was scenic. The bad:/ worn out bedding, pillows, and the room, bathroom generally not clean. The ugly:( WiFi was very limited in coverage, literally had to stand near the window to...

Loved the neighborhood. Lots of wonderful little restaurants and shops within walking distance. Lovely beach with stunning views of the bridge a 10 minute walk away. Staff was very helpful. Rooms were clean and cosy.

This is a quaint motel that does well based on the exceptionally friendly staff, and comfortable decor. It's a good location too. Unfortunately, there are some significant drawbacks that would have me suggest you look at other properties in the area. The street noise is significant, there is no air conditioning, and noise travels through the walls and floors readily.

AffordableComfort, Thank you for the review...I'm sorry that you had an issue with the noise on Lombard street....I make sure that anywhere we are listed and bookable it states that the rooms on Lombard have street noise....If rooms in the courtyard are available at the time of booking...We suggest paying the small extra charge to stay in the courtyard... LOCATION: Somewhat busy Lombard Street, in the Marina District. Easy access to the Wharf, China town, Golden Gate Bridge via Uber. If you rent a car, you should definitely stay in the Marina area as parking AT the hotel is free. Downtown hotels charge 40-60 dollars a night. But, you still have great access to all the attractions. ACCOMODATIONS: Comfortable...

Rob, I apologize for what you went though. I understand the frustration in having different rates during one stay....I did say that we will give you the same rate for both nights...And i will be crediting you back that difference... As far as getting "gouged", we are an occupancy based price model property, which means that the rate can change,...

Staying in Marina District

Neighbourhood Profile
Marina District
Beautiful homes, beautiful people, and a beautiful backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge welcome visitors to the Marina. Originally the location for the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in 1915 (whose remnants can be seen at the Palace of Fine Arts), much of the land was filled and flattened to accommodate a world’s fair. That ample space has given way to a jogger’s paradise at the northern edge of the city. With the picturesque bay setting as its backdrop, it’s no surprise that the area has hosted numerous movie productions. Daytime activities focus on café culture and boutique shopping, while the evenings turn this neighbourhood into a party-going hotspot.
