This was our second time camping at Assateague State Park. We'd visited last fall and loved it so much we decided to return in the spring. We went this year the weekend before Memorial Day. This time we camped in the F loop and liked this site just as much if not more than our site in the I loop....

We checked online to see if any sites open for same afternoon arrival for weekend visit and luckily yes. So we went to the office and we were able to obtain a site on the one loop with 30 amp electric hookup. Office staff very helpful. Quick check in. Campsite loops in alphabetical order and sites numbered so easy to...

This is a really beautiful place to camp. We went RV camping but you can tent camp as well. This is a very very clean park with beautiful views. Office staff and rangers are extremely friendly and informative. If you are on the east cost you must stay at this park at least once. If you are RVn there is...

After a trip to DC, we wanted to do some camping, preferably near a beach. We didn't have a rigid timeline, so we searched all along the Atlantic coast. We decided on Assateague because of a) the convenience and facilities, and b) the horses. The campsite itself was small, but nice. It was extremely windy during our stay, though we...

We go here every year. Camping is great, and cheap. They have showers and bathrooms which are always clean. The beach is awesome and seeing the wild horses are amazing. One of my favorite places to go

Assateague is a barrier island, connected by the Verrazano bridge to Berlin, Maryland. It has three campgrounds. Bay side and beach side campgrounds are part of the Assateague Island National Seashore, operated by the National Park Service which we visited four years ago and drove through during this visit. None of the sites have hookups nor are there flush toilets...

Spent two nights camping here with my husband and son in mid-October.....we LOVED it! We camped in the I loop right next to a bathhouse and across from the dune crossover. We loved listening to the waves crash from our site. The new bathhouses are nice.... The shower wasn't the hottest but it was workable. There ponies wandered right through...

For this to be enjoyed, I wouldn't camp (and I like to camp!) The fact that you cannot leave any food out, ever, is more of a pain than you might think. Not talking just at night -- the horses can show up at any moment (they are lovely, and I get that this is THEIR space first), but when...

If you are up for "dry camping"; no water, electric, sewer, which I was a bit hesitant about even in an RV than you will LOVE this campground! The campsites are large, beautifully situated and very well kept up. We stayed on the Bay side where you can just walk in your canoe/kayaks. It's a short bicycle/car ride to the...

Our campsite gad no water or electric, which was exactly what we wanted. This was our first tent camping experience and definitely not our last. The bathhouses were spotless, the beach was clean. We saw lots of horses! Many visited our sites daily. We were very careful at keeping all food locked in the car. Eating in the tents was...
