We stayed here on our first trip to Nome, and then rented the innkeeper's other property for a month the following year. Both were outstandingly cared for and inviting. I just don't know what will happen when the current owners retire and sell to new owners. I wish them well!

Fantastic location to stay while in Nome, nice and quiet. The beds were comfortable. Breakfast was continental style, but worked perfect for us, since we were there only for the weekend and had places to see! The owners were very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend this place

My husband and I stayed in the Burton Suite for 4 days. We were very pleased with the privacy of this room and everything you could think of was provided. Nancy, the owner, provided breakfast items on a daily basis. As the room had a microwave, stove, dishes, cutlery, condiments, coffee pot and coffee grinder with coffee beans, we were able to prepare our own breakfast every morning. Some of the goodies provided were freshly baked cinnamon buns, butter, fresh cut fruit, juice, milk, cereal, yogurt, and loads of snacks to take with us on our daily birding trips. The decor helped make the room the homiest ever. Lots of channels on the television and the WIFI worked fast. We had access to a washer and dryer as well. Between the large dresser and closet there is plenty of room for clothes and suitcases to be stored away. There was one flight of steps from the parking lot at the back of the building into the suite. Nancy, you though of EVERYTHING! And the peach coffee cake was so fresh and to die for! Thanks for sharing the recipe. We would definitely stay here again.

We booked the Burton Suite on November 7 and -- because we'd heard war stories about lost B&B reservations in Nome -- reconfirmed by suite name on January 18 and again on May 8 (3 weeks ahead of our stay). That should do it, right? WRONG. We wanted the Burton Suite because it was private and on the 1st. floor (I have severe arthritis and great difficulty with stairs). We arrived to find that the owner and family were in Hawaii for a wedding and we had been placed in the owner's 2nd floor bedroom. The room had a pleasant sitting area with a good view of the Bering Sea, but the pluses stopped here. The room was so cluttered with the owners' possessions that we had to keep all of our clothes in our suitcases. Instead of the private kitchen we had booked, we had to share theirs with other people. The breakfast was the worst we've ever encountered in a B&B (any readers like 6-day old pastry in a plastic box from Safeway?). We had to revert to bringing in fruit and pastries that we bought on our own. I could go on and on, but the bottom line was a grim stay. The owner's excuse that she had "lost" all of her May bookings due to a computer glitch didn't hold water when we had reconfirmed -- IN MAY! We tried to change to a hotel but found that everything was booked solid (prime birding season). In the owner's defense, she did finally offer to cut our bill by 1/3.

So sorry for your hard time. I try hard to serve and make folks happy. When I learned of your disappointment and reduced your invoice by 1/3, You agreed that getting one of your 3 nights free was fair to you for the inconvenience. Most people love the awesome ocean view from the king room and trading a full for a king bed and jacuzzi tub. Under the circumstances I gave you the best I could. I understand your disappointment about being on the second floor with your difficulty getting up stairs and sharing the kitchen area. I hope you found other things that made your Nome visit enjoyable. God bless you.

Every time that I visit Nome, I always try to stay at the Angel Camp By The Sea B&B :)). The owners are super helpful and friendly, and their downstairs suites are kept immaculately clean... two of these have full kitchens with everything you need to prepare and enjoy your own meal, while the 3rd one has a microwave, coffee maker, and small fridge (perfect for shorter stays). The beds are really comfy, the WiFi is speedy, and I always appreciate the multiple breakfast/snack items that are provided too... there’s even a washer & dryer to do your laundry as well! Enjoy my favorite — and the best — lodging facility in Nome :))
