If you can manage the Scenic Elk Mountain Highway and then the twisting driveway, the Sourwood Inn is the best place to stay in the mountains of North Carolina. Rooms are beautifully done with individual balconies, fireplaces, and lavish tubs overlooking the mountains. No children....More

We loved staying at the Sourwood Inn about 25 minutes from downtown Asheville. The architecture is Arts and Crafts style. The Inn is spacious and quiet, the owners are special folks, who love caring for their guests. The food is delicious, dinner is served Thursday-Sunday....More

Hi and thank you for your interest in Sourwood. We only allow children 12 and older, either in the inn or in the Sassafras Cabin. I am not sure how old your children are, but a call might be in order.

Hello and thank you for your interest in visiting Sourwood. You are correct that we have limited cell phone coverage. Verizon gets excellent coverage, while all other are spotty at best. There is a land line in all rooms... More
