This is my first TripAdvisor review and I felt inclined due to our great experience. My Fiancé were coming into town for a wedding and are used to taking Uber’s from airports. Well, we quickly learned that there are close to no Uber’s or taxis at the Asheville airport. I called the concierge at the Kimpton Hotel Arras and they were able to get us the name of a taxi company that could come and get us, after several failed attempts to find one via Google. When we checked in, we were asked if we preferred a king room to the double we had booked to which we said yes and were able to sleep in a king on the 6th floor. The room was quiet (to the other reviewers saying it’s loud, we didn’t hear any pedestrians nor cars- only the occasional emergency vehicle siren which not even the thickest wall or window could prevent). We didn’t hear our neighbors or anyone above us which is really rare in a hotel. Right across from our room was pre packaged ice in the freezer and a filtered water tap - really convenient! The hotel is in a perfect location (probably the best in the city), a 2 minute walk to Curaté, where we had an amazing meal. We did not have a chance to eat at the hotel restaurant but some friends did and said it was great. We did go to the hotel bar on Friday night and the cocktails were tasty and the vibe fun with a DJ. Bed was super comfortable. Room modern yet comfortable and functional. Free snacks were a nice touch. AC was quiet and cooled properly. Extremely clean room, bathroom, and lobby. WiFi was fast and TV had lots of channels. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful, nice, and gave great recommendations. I cannot wait to come stay here again!! It seriously made the trip and changed my view of Asheville - before, I didn’t think service this good and accommodations this nice were available in the city. We returned feeling so relaxed and well rested which is abnormal after a weekend of celebrating with friends. Thank you to the entire staff! Attached is a photo showing the nice view from our room.

This hotel is beautiful and staff great. But we are in a 6th floor and still hear screaming, drag racing and partying in the street below that is so loud in our room that we can’t hear ourselves speak to each other well enough sleep. This hotel really should either insulate better or not rent street facing rooms on busy weekends. It’s terrible.

jerry211b, we are so sorry that you did not have a restful sleep with us. I understand you had a great conversation with our General Manager, David, and I reiterate his apologies. Local noise ordinances have changed in Asheville and we know the local enforcement is doing everything that can do restrict loud mufflers on vehicles. One of the biggest benefits of our hotel is that you are in the middle of everything our incredible city has to offer. That also means you’re in the middle of everything… We are glad you will be coming back to stay with us again and look forward to changing your 2/5 review into a 5/5 review. Stayed for 3 nights the middle of September 2021, double room on the third floor. In the past this was an art-de co style bank building in the heart of downtown and is an absolutely beautiful renovation for this new hotel. Service by the staff and valet was beyond exceptional. The rooms were very well thought out and very comfortable. I could have stayed in the shower all day. The complimentary morning coffee was a plus. Located close to many restaurants and attractions, you could stay there a few days without needing your car. As others have expressed, the noise at night from the street is about the loudest I have ever encountered, even compared to large city Kimpton properties. Even with earplugs and a sound machine we did not achieve a good nights sleep during our stay. In all fairness, we asked for a quiet room/high floor and we did book the hotel on a promo rate, so it is likely a higher floor was not an option without an additional charge.

We visited Asheville for the first time and admittedly chose the Kimpton because the reviews were so over the top amazing. I was planning a surprise birthday trip and needed to know the hotel would be reliable. The hotel was everything the reviews promised. At 11:34pm, I emailed a request concerning my reservation and had a reply from TWO people within 10 minutes. 4 people at valet greeted us and made sure they held both doors open every time. The gentleman who helped with luggage also gave us tips and a great restaurant referral that was exactly what I needed for a large party eating outdoors. A kind birthday greeting, surprise upgrade, and yummy birthday treats awaited us when we checked in. The shower drained slow the first night but was fixed within 15 minutes of us notifying them. :0 Our lunch at the restaurant was so delicious. We relaxed outside in a lovely and peaceful sitting area. Another review said the floors above 5 have less street noise and I agree with that. That said, the city noise didn’t bother us. Our rooms had windows that slightly opened and we loved that feature. Every single employee was genuinely thoughtful and kind- nothing was fake. The gym equipment is new and well-spaced for covid times. Overall, the hotel was the same experience the whole weekend- a pattern of them exceeding our expectations in every way. We look forward to returning!

If you ever want to experience ultimate customer service, stay at the Arras. The Kimpton team was incredible at anticipating our every need. Alan grabbed my puppy and she tried to escape from the car, while Alberto and Dakota unloaded our luggage and opened every door. Logan, Charlee, Will, Adam and Kaitlyn made sure then my older dog could get in and out of the elevator without slipping, then we had simple things like dog beds and instructions on the elevators, we knew about which restaurants to eat at, and how not to miss our football game. It was such an enjoyable and hassle free stay. I will definitely be back
