As other reviewers have pointed out, this is an older hotel, previously a Day's Inn. It could stand updating, but then it wouldn't be the value it is. For $76 per night, free parking, free breakfast, free wi-fi internet, a comfortable king-sized bed, a location in the middle of downtown across from the federal building, and cheerful service, where else...

I really enjoyed my 4 night stay. The location was awesome! My room on the 5th floor facing the mountains had been nicely updated and included a microwave, refrigerator, and plasma TV. The staff was extremely helpful with special kudos to Jolene. The breakfast choices included waffles, omelets, turkey sausage patties, and so much more. Would not stay anywhere else....

I agree with the majority of reviews that this hotel is a been worn down, but the location is the best in town! Stayed two nights (10-13/14-2012), water was cold both Saturday and Sunday mornings. If they could guarantee that I would have hot water in the mornings, I would definitely stay there again.

During the weekend that this guest stayed with us, we were in the process of adding another water heater. We installed a mixing valve and water temperature monitor to assure that we have an uninterrupted hot water supply during this process. Obviously it failed at one point and we apologize for the inconvenience to the guest. We want to assure...

My family and I have stayed at the DTIS several times, and each time there have been noticeable improvements. Most recently, there was a brand new elevator and greatly improved breakfast options. We had a room on the 5th floor, mountain view, and it was great. The only time we used the car all weekend was to go to the...

Really - this place is great - I loved it - but it is a little "low key". We had been in a brand new Marriott Executive Inn the night before (for about twice the $$) - and no question - the Marriott WAS nicer - but this place is actually "cooler". The Downtown Inn does present as a little...

My husband and I have stayed at the Downtown Inn & Suites more than a handful of times. We live in Atlanta, so Asheville is a nice drive for the weekends. This hotel has always been very clean and staff is nice. The location is what keeps us from going to other hotels in the area, as it is in...

When I travel I consider a hotel room a place to shower and sleep. I stayed here for 7 nights and was quite comfortable. Its nothing fancy but its clean and the staff was very considerate. Parking is a bit tight. Its a very short walk to everything you want to do and see in downtown Asheville and I would...

We recently spent 2 nights at the Downtown Inn. The rooms/lobby are exactly what I would expect for $75-80/night accommodations. Bedroom was very clean, bath was clean but just appeared dingy due to age. They served a free breakfast with a wide variety of the standard fare. The staff was extremely friendly and the location couldn't have been better for...

This was our first time staying here, and our first trip to Asheville. We found the downtown Inn after searching on our phones for decent priced rooms. We stayed for 4 nights, at a decent rate for such a prime location. Nothing to complain about, it's a basic hotel that offers the basics. I felt comfortable in the room, safe,...

This hotel needs upgrades for sure. But our room was clean and comfortable, we had free wifi and you cannot beat the location for downtown Asheville access. We walked the city for days and had so much fun, so much to see and do. we stayed for 4 nights and were comfortable, but we are pretty low key people too.
