Beautifully decorated with period pieces and comfortable beds and linens make the Lion and the Rose a wonderful stay. superb breakfasts and good suggestions for local dining add to the appeal. The bathrooms are small, as one would imagine from a house built in 1895, but the historical setting more than makes up for it! the garden and porch provide... More

Wonderful atmosphere, terrific accomodations, awesome breakfast. Jim and Linda provided a perfect balance of being extremely welcoming and helpful and then allowing one to enjoy their B&B in privacy. Incredibly gracious and generous hosts!

10. The proprietors, Jim and Linda, serve A-Mazing breakfasts. They're far better than you'd expect to find in a restaurant. Plus, Jim is extremely accommodating of food allergies. He made me some killer gluten-free crepes--the first I've had in 3 years! 9. Asheville is amazing--like a little Boulder, CO of the south--and just by choosing this as your destination, you're... My husband and I were lucky to find the Lion and the Rose B&B when we were searching for a place to stay. This B&B is a beautiful Victorian home filled with antiques. The rooms are tastefully decorated and quiet. But the crowning event at the Lion and the Rose were the wonderful breakfasts that Jim and Linda fixed every... More

We stay in a lot of B&B's and this may have been the nicest. The house is beautifully and elegantly decorated. The common areas are plentiful, roomy, and nicely furnished. The large wrap-around porch is inviting and beautiful. The grounds are just gorgeous and include a charming outdoor fountain and shaded sitting area. The rooms are comfortable and accommodating. A... I stayed here for two nights with two other women for a girls' getaway, and we fell in the love with The Lion and the Rose. We stayed in the Craig-Toms suite. The beds and linens were plush and comfortable, the room pleasantly decorated, and everything was wonderfully well supplied (including a spare toothbrush when I forgot mine). Our room... More

We stayed for 3 nights in early June and will recommend it to anyone going to Asheville. The location is great - just a 25-minute walk downtown, but in a nice residential neighborhood. Jim and Linda were excellent hosts, and gave us great recommendations for seeing Asheville. We stayed in the Craig-Toms suite, which is by itself on the third... More

Our stay at this B&B exceeded all our expectations. It was so charming with all the luxury's you could want and beautifully decorated. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and our hosts gracious. We can't wait to visit again and will definitely schedule extra time to relax in the gardens. Thanks Jim and Linda!

We are seasoned B&Bers of more than 30 years, and The Lion and the Rose now joins our elite list of TWO houses that share critical attributes: location in a historic district, beautifully appointed, impeccably clean rooms throughout, truly unique - and absolutely delicious - breakfasts that vary widely but that hit the key protein and fruit groups in imaginative...
