It’s leaf season in the mountains of North Carolina so prices will be a little higher if you stay there. However you might expect to find a newer mattress than the one in the room where I stayed. It was a worn out innerspring that sagged in the middle. Save your money and stay in the valley then drive to the mountains.

We appreciate your comments and are always happy to hear that people enjoyed staying with us and had a great time in our city. People love our location and that pets stay for free. I will be sharing this with my staff to further encourage and motivate them for the tough job they do everyday. Our visit here was awful. Not what I have come to expect from Red Roof at all ! The cost was double what I usually pay and not any of the perks usually available. The outside was dirty and had continuous trouble with room key. The hair dryer didn’t. Work. Had to force the faucet to work. My advice skip this red roof inn,

Thank you for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience. We sincerely apologize for the poor experience. We have gone through some unprecedented times lately and for a period we had several rooms that we rented to assist a couple charities. These rooms have since checked out and we realize that it effected some our our regular guests. We are currently hiring a new GM and housekeeping staff and expect to regain our focus on consistent quality. We have been working on the exterior this past week power washing. If you are willing to send me the room you occupied I will make sure we address the hair dryer and faucet if we have not already. We hope you will accept our apology and know we are taking corrective action to prevent issues like this in the future. We hope that we might see you again next time your travels bring you to the great city of Asheville.

I stay at Red Roof Inns a lot when I travel. This location is kinda mediocre on that scale. That doesn't mean it was a horrible overnight stay, but that it was mostly average in every way. One pleasant surprise is that the Red Roof website was telling me this location was sold out for the night I wanted, but the manager told me that he actually had a room available. The website seems unreliable, so it's better to call the front desk. The bed was OK and the A/C unit worked well on a muggy night. This room didnt have a mini-fridge which meant no cold storage for beverages or food. The mattress was decent. WiFi was around 15 Mbps speed and reliable. There is a convenience store right next door with a Dairy Queen inside it so you enjoy some delicious treats! I didnt see any shady people or homeless folks here like other reviews mentioned. It seemed pretty safe and quiet at night. It's located right off I-40 so you have quick access to Asheville.

I will be sharing this with my staff to further encourage and motivate them for the tough job they do everyday. I will make sure my supervisor is aware of the website issues. We do offer rooms with micro fridges for a few dollars more, but still offer the standard rooms since some guests prefer to save the money. We look forward to seeing you again the next time your travels bring you to the great city of Asheville.

The good points: quick and abundant hot water {except the serving table in the lobby}; surprising WIFI – 24 MBPS the first day, dropping to 4-7 thereafter (still better than a lot of hotels). The down-side: Uneven walking surface – narrow sidewalk bordered by a slight drop-off to river-rock next to grass filled with exploded toadstools – trip hazard throughout. Older readers might recognize the term “blue-tick mattress” – cheapest of the cheap with creaking springs when you move. I need more than two pillows: the manager told me with a straight face, “We don’t have any more than the standard pillows for each room, and I can’t get any more.” I drove to a store five minutes away and bought my pillows. No service - not even replacing towels or toiletries without a trip to the office.
