This is one of my mainstays in Boston, primarily because of the hotel's proximity to Newbury St, the Convention Center, and shopping. The property has gone through some renovations, although more are needed. The elevators are HORRIBLY slow and the common areas are looking very dated - they looked dated 10 years ago and not much has changed. On a...

Dear Sir/Madam, Thank you for choosing our hotel during your last visit to the Boston area, and thank you for taking the time to express your thoughts. I was delighted to learn that you enjoyed our location and the clean rooms. I was at the same time disappointed that you felt that the elevators were a burden. I would like...

I am a loyal Marriott customer. We are an elite silver status members. My husband and I stayed one night. Check in was excellent. We arrived at 1pm and Julia assisted with the check in process and was able to accommodate our request for a high floor. Our room was spacious and had an excellent view of the Christian Science...

i am not a fan of the marriott chain, bland, disappointing and boring. However the management team of this hotel are on the ball. The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location with fantastic restaurants, and markets close by. A good choice for a business or city break.

I stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip to Boston. I had a pleasant stay, the room was very spacious and comfortable and staff were friendly and helpful. It is a fantastic central location, and close to all major transport links, restaurants etc. However one thing I was very disappointed with was the fact that they didn't have...

The rooms are good, location great. Service so so. Concierge gave me completely wrong information about the subway system, and indirectly suggested that this hotel's clientele would never use public transit. Elevators frustratingly slow. Main problem is extras they hit you for. $13/day for internet, breakfast for 2, north of $40, parking $50/day. I felt ripped off every time I...

(DATE/TIME wasn't available for travel, review is from 2013 stay though) The hotel was average and lacked in overall value, which combine numerous factors. There was a nice restaurant/bar attached (Champions). These rooms were sufficient and got the job done for a business trip, but they weren't anything to get excited about. For the price, there are better options nearby....

Overall this is very nice property in an excellent location. The location could not be better. The rooms are large, the fitness center is updated & quite large with a nice variety of equipment. They have a large indoor pool & hot tub. The lobby has been refurbished & is quite nice. Has a real open sense to it. But...

nicely appointed hotel with great location attached to two upper end shopping malls with numerous excellent restaurants. Food choices in the hotel limited and lunch service at champions slow, but the staff more than nice. Rooms had great views and were well appointed. Meeting space generous. I spent one night at this hotel earlier this week. I thoroughly enjoyed the neighborhood and convenience to nearby attractions. The hotel is within walking disatance of many restaurants, bars, shopping, Fenway Park, and MIT campus. As a business traveler, it is a litte far from downtown (1-2 miles depending on your location) to walk if that is an issue...

Thank you for taking the time to write about your experience at our hotel and for the kind words about our staff. Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
