Excellent stay! Very good location to Newbury St and the prudential center. The front desk staff went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. The hotel is in an antique building so be prepared for “charm” which doesn’t always translate to modern expectations…

My wife and I stayed over Saturday night. We loved our 1 bedroom suite with views of snowy Boston. High-quality sheets, solid furniture and a small but highly functional bathroom all contributed to a comfortable and relaxing stay. A short walk to Newbury St and the Charles. We will be back!

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review his stay and for the stellar rating! It truly is a combination of our beautiful location in Boston's elegant Back Bay district, our spacious and comfortable designer suites, and our friendly and genuinely caring staff dedicated to providing personalized service; that together, helps us create such exceptional guest stays. I'm delighted this guest "will be back" at our "great Boston Hotel." It will be my pleasure to welcome him once again.

We spent a couple of nights at The Eliot at the end of our two week driving trip in New England. It was a very nice property in a good location with a couple of important caveats. Knowing them in advance wouldn't have changed our decision to stay there but we would have planned a little differently. The first is that there is NO parking in the area. You have to valet park and even being able to get to the curb to leave the car for the valet is a challenge. The Eliot is on a very busy corner with a lot of traffic. The doormen are really good about directing you and other traffic so that you can drop off and, more importantly, get back into the flow of traffic when you leave; but there is no "come and go" with your car on a whim. We did a lot of walking while there but we would have maybe arranged our plans a little differently if we'd known that in advance. The other is that, while there are some good views, you need to ask about the view from your room beforehand. Our room looked over the roof of another part of the hotel and/or adjacent buildings. It was pretty ugly. It would have been much nicer to have a room overlooking Commonwealth Ave. Speaking of Commonwealth, there is a green space along Commonwealth that is wonderful. We did quite a bit of walking along it getting to and from various places in the area. Lots of trees, benches, statues, etc... Just a nice way to move around that part of the city as opposed to congested and narrow sidewalks. If you need cash, there is a Chase ATM right across Massachusetts Ave. Very convenient. And in the other direction, Fenway Park is a short (block or two?) walk to the west. The room itself was nice. The bar area was pretty small but that was in a large living area. The bedroom was pretty tight but again, with the living area, we really only used the bedroom to set up our suitcases. There were TVs in both the bedroom and the living room. I was a little aggravated when we arrived and saw what the parking situation was like but, as I said, the doormen did a good job of mitigating a bad location (for parking, drop off and pick up) and the other positive aspects of the stay more than offset that negative one.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review their stay and for the kind compliments about our location, accommodations and staff. It is true that parking, (and driving), in Boston can be a challenge, particularly because of our urban location in Boston's historic Back Bay district where there is extremely limited parking. Prospective guests will find it helpful to know that the hotel uses a nearby garage to park guest cars and provides valet service for guests from the front of the hotel. This guest was also very accurate in noting that not all rooms overlook the neighborhood, so guests for whom a view is a priority may request so prior to arrival and we will do our best to accommodate accordingly. I'm delighted that, overall, this guest had such a positive stay, and hope to welcome them back once again the next time they may have occasion to visit Boston!

This wonderful hotel was a joy for our Christmas visit. It was decorated beautifully, our suite was roomy and comfortable and the staff was helpful and efficient. We enjoyed the UNI restaurant and our meal at the next-door Harvard Club which was arranged by the hotel. The location is great and when not walking, we were able to easily get Ubers. We will stay again at the Eliot for our next Boston trip! Loved it!

Wife and I had a two night stay to begin our week-long trip to Boston and Massachusetts in mid October. We loved our stay. The hotel is in a great area to explore Boston and get to know the area. Weather was warm so we had some great walks around the city. We also enjoyed a dinner at Uni the attached restaurant which was just awesome. A special thank you to Vibhu Sehgal at the front desk who checked us in, upgraded us, and helped us out during our stay. The hotel is older and charming, so it has quirks but none worth mentioning and none that detracted from our stay. If there had been a problem, I'm confident the staff would have accommodated us well. The hotel feels like a part of Boston history and we were glad we chose it for our stay.

I wish to thank this guest for taking the time to review their stay and for the high rating! In many ways, the Eliot Hotel exemplifies the dichotomy of old and new that is so distinctive of Boston. The hotel's classic architectural details and personalized guest service combine with modern designer suites and contemporary public art. I'm delighted the Eliot was part of a "great introduction to Boston," and hope to have the pleasure of welcoming these guests back once again.
