My husband and I took a mini-vacation to Boston for our anniversary. I knew I wanted to splurge a bit to surprise my husband, and the Langham did seem a little expensive for our budget, but the reviews were so outstanding and the photos and amenities made me want to take the chance instead of compromising just for price. We...

I am writing this review while pacing the hallway, unable to sleep because of the noise. Our room is apparently right above the dance club that plays music until 2am. Perhaps because I booked over hotels.com we were given a bad room, but I am shocked that such a formal and expensive hotel would essentially have a room above a...

This is a fantastic hotel with cozy rooms, great location and all mods and cons, including a heated indoor pool and Jacuzzi. My only complaint is that they do not seem to care enough about its customers after you have parted with your money. Upon check in I was told I could get points with my preferred airline for the...

We stayed 3 nights in October this year and had a very enjoyable time. The hotel is ideally situated to explore central Boston and the 'Freedom Trail' runs close by. From that walk you can see much of the historic parts of the city. Our room was well appointed and very clean. The staff at the hotel were courteous and...

Stayed at Langham for 3 nights at recent convention. Staff very attentive and hotel pleasant and felt very safe for a woman travelling alone. The doorman was extremely friendly and the staff in the fitness centre took me for an impromptu tour of their facilities when they saw me looking around. I like the room with the slippers and the...

I had high hopes for my four night stay at The Langham as the group has an excellent reputation globally but while the location is great and the room was spacious and clean, the service at this hotel lets it down in small ways. When I arrived at the hotel, the doorman helped get my bags out of the taxi...

We started our fly drive holiday in Boston - staying at the Langham for 2 nights. Lovely hotel, luxurious start to the holiday, ideally located to visit all the tourist areas on foot. We didn't eat at the hotel as we wanted to taste the food of Boston - mostly down at the Market where there was a great choice....

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
