This fabulous B &B is the perfect combination of city sophistication & style without being stuffy and pretentious. I knew I had picked the perfect Inn the moment I entered the front door (I definitely got that "ahhh, perfect", feeling at first sight). Karen ( the manager) was there to greet me and help me get settled in. She's very...

This wonderful b&b exceeded expectations: from the efficient, thoughtful and detailed liaison pre-stay to the warm welcome and ongoing and sincere willingness to offer well-judged local information as needed. The breakfasts were tasty and more than ample, and taken in a super-comfortable kitchen or dining room, where we lingered with papers and could check our email. Our room was wonderfully...

My fifth or sixth stay here for an annual event in Boston's South End. Elegant surroundings and well appointed rooms that are kept looking fresh, even pristine, year after year. Welcoming owner and staff, but don't come here looking for Ma and Pa Kettle.

We absolutely adore Clarendon Square and it has become our favorite place to stay when we come to Boston. Not only does one feel like one is in ones own house but it also has excellent service that is very personal. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable and cosy with every little detail carefully thought through. Finally there is the area...

My wife and I were looking for a week long experience within the city of Boston. This B & B is located on a quiet side street in a elegant 6 story brownstone just blocks from transportation and great restaurants. Our host, Stephen and his staff were vary gracious in providing information, making reservations, and assiting our every need. We...

Pros: Karen and Winnie do a great job. The rooms are beautiful to look at. Cons: Common areas are unwelcoming. No fire, wine and cheese to welcome you "home" after a long day of walking. I understand no fire in the rooms, BUT as SMALL as the rooms are, you have to get out of the room especially with a...

The Clarendon is perfect. You would be crazy to stay in a hotel. I thoroughly recommend it and would stay again.

The Clarendon is all that we expected - and more. Very comfortable private and common rooms with congenial, helpful owners and staff. They were never intrusive, as can be the case in some establishments. The breakfast is much more varied and of a better quality than most b&bs. Consisting of fruit, excellent proteins (Italian cold cuts, eggs, cheese), there's also...

This is a great place to stay if you appreciate an establishment which is designed in excellent taste but which is also extremely comfortable. The staff are friendly and welcoming and we had a great three days in Boston using the Clarendon as our base. BTW I am not as a rule inclined to write reviews but this place was...

My husband and I stayed at the Clarendon for 3 nights during our vacation in Boston. This property defines "clean" and "well-appointed". The room was amazingly decorated and cared for (we stayed in the suite) as were the common areas. It was really like staying in someone's home, and not a hotel, someone with great style and taste! The rooftop...

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
